I don't get it either. I can't see how any criminal investigative fan would be interested because the details are so shotty and the police work is such nonsense. These so-called homicide detectives don't know much of anything about a murder investigation. It's painful to watch. And the fact they are clueless doesn't seem to bother them at all. They just muddle along, hoping something falls to them from the sky.

The other characters are very boring. The entire political storyline is so boring that I can barely sit through it. And the entire thing with Linden and her neglect of her son is so horrible, that it causes me to dislike her unnecessarily. The fact she was a foster child, doesn't make that okay.

I'm trying to remember Harper's Island. I think I watched some of it.

If so many viewers pan this show, why do critics like it and why would the network renew it? I don't get it. Some of the best written and acted shows on tv are canceled, so I think this is so unfair. I'm referring to Damages, The Unit, and others. Oh, I can't wait until they win some awards! LOL

    Re: The Killing (AMC)

I forced myself to focus and re-watched the episode from Sunday. I was thinking it was because I'm always tired on Sunday nights that I have focus issues, but if it were Mad Men, I could practically recall it verbatim Monday. I think it's all the rain...it puts me to sleep.

Now I'm of the opinion that Terry gave Jasper's dad that "look" because she hooked up with him through the "adult introduction" online service in the past. Hell, maybe he bought her those shoes she loaned to Rosie.

I don't think Richmond killed Rosie but I do think he's Orpheus and, like ASassyKat said, hired the girl on the anniversary of his wife's death and she (the wife) died by drowning. It could possibly be Drexler, but I don't think Rosie drown in his pool. There's no time between the chase in the woods to burial in the car in the pond to go back downtown Seattle unless they pull a really fast one on the audience, given the opening scenes of the show. Not that I wouldn't put it past the writers to do that. I read on another board that the producers weren't happy with the writers mid-way through and shook things up in the writers' room. I'm not espousing that as the truth, but it sure feels that way.

I'd rule out Gwen too, since she seemed shocked by the pictures of Richmond and Rosie (assuming that was Rosie--the pictures weren't terribly clear). That eliminates her motive for either wanting to do the girl harm or even knowing she existed. I'd also rule out Jamie because (a) he's squeamish around alcohol and young girls and (b) he *should* have used it to his benefit by now (*should* because, given the uneven writing, who knows).

Given that Stan had his bail hearing, you'd have thought we'd have an update on Bennet by now--that would be a key factor in his bail hearing (alive vs. dead). I guess we can presume he's not dead (yet).

So, we're supposed to have a wild last 2 minute conclusion, right? If it were MY (totally fabricated, no spoiler, based on nothing we've seen thusfar) wackadoo conclusion it would be either (a) Roberta, the security chief at the casino--motive being her loved one was falsely accused as the drunk driver who killed Mrs. Richmond and she did it to frame Richmond; (b) Rick because he wanted to kill someone--anyone--to get out of marrying the emotionally unavailable Larson; (c) Jack, because no one really keeps good tabs on him; or (d) Regi, after all she did take off on her boat.

I agree. This show is poorly written and clearly the writer did not have a professional to help with the details of an investigation. I don't care who did it. It will not be a bone chilling ending for me. It is shocking this will see another season!

I am going to say it is Mitch's sister. She was having an affair with the candidate and jealous of Rosie so tried to frame him. The expensive shoes? The mayoral candidate bought them for her. I don't even remember most of their names.

I wonder if they are even going to reveal who killed Rosie. That could be, in my mind, the only reason this show would possibly be renewed for another season. The writing has been horrible, the acting even worse and I find that none of the characters are believable in any way. It's like "who cares?" kind of a show for me. The Event had better writing at the end than this show and it was canceled.

I believe Richmond might be arrested for the crime. The last 5 minutes are supposed to be "shocking". I gather we, the audience, might get some insight into who the killer really is. Not sure if the police will discover it by the end of the season, though.

I wish it had been Mitch, 'cause then she'd be off my TV screen for good. lol I'm hoping it's solved so that we can move on from the Larson clan into another storyline. Of course for that to work Bennett would have to recover from the beating, etc.

Respectfully snipped above. I like your ideas. You may be right. I predicted who was going to shoot Bill Hendrickson on Big Love in the beginning of their last season. People did not believe me, but I was right. It all went down in the last 3 minutes of the show's finale. With The Killing......i'm really clueless. LOL

I'm still leaning towards Mrs. Larson's sister. Do you recall when she asked Mrs. Larson why she never called Rosie the entire weekend. It was like she was trying to make the mother feel worse than she already did. Sometimes sick people like to punish others and blame them when they mess up. I know it sounds crazy, but she's the one I think has acted the most bizarre.

The reasons I think it is Mitches sister, the aunt, follow:

It would be a shocking ending. Who else would shock? The movie "Presumed Innocent" leaps to mind (I figured this out immediately, however).
Most murders are by someone very close to the victim (we have to assume there is some logic with the writing and research).
Her behavior as being the savior in the family points to someone working at not being suspected.

I haven't paid close attention to the characters names but what if it is the father of the woman who is sleeping with the candidate and running his campaign? Or even that woman. She finds out he is hiring high school age girls for sex and kills off Rosie to keep her from going public? I'm not sure I will watch again next season unless the writing gets much better.

I have to laugh. Few of us know the characters names so I have NO clue what you are saying!! LOL! This is a clear illustration of what we have all been saying. We are not invested nor do we care.

I took the time to look up the names. What if Richmond was caught sleeping with Rosie by Gwen (his aide and lover) and she got angry and told her father, Senator Eaton decided to take out Rosie so his daughter Gwen could keep her candidate lover and her job.
