Re: Jeopardy!

I know they've had that Final Jeopardy question before, but I still couldn't remember the answer. So many possibilities of country names all over the world. Niger/Nigeria just didn't come fast enough for me (or for them, they all tanked on it).

Re: Jeopardy!

I kept thinking it was some South American country. When Alex revealed that it was Niger/Nigeria it was one of those head-slapping moments for me. But, then, I also thought that the letters would be in the middle as opposed to at the end a la Austria/Australia.

Best I could do during the FJ jingle was Iran/Ireland, but that has 3 more letters not 2. But my brain stopped functioning once I had reached even that.

8 wins. Wow. Tomorrow we find out if he can run the week. By the way, may I say both Samantha on today's show and Ester on yesterday's were good-looking? <3

The Associated Press: 'Jeopardy' to pit humans against IBM machine

Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter return! The computer will dominate final Jeopardy for sure. And if it can time the buzzer correctly, it could simply ring in before the humans every time and then take 2 seconds to compute before giving the correct answer. Just ringing in first all the time would be frustrating enough.

Re: Jeopardy!

I read an article in the New York Times magazine a while back about the computer. It does have some flaws as I recall with certain types of questions so the humans might stand a chance. It will definitely be an in interesting match.

Edited to add: here's the link to the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/20/ma...t.html?_r=1&hp

Watson makes his appearance soon!

Brad Rutter ftw. Reason being he is the King and shall never lose anything.

I'm looking forward to the computer vs. man shows.

Isn't Ken Jennings, though, the one with the most wins?
I thought Rutter had second most wins?
