She had a great run, but I'm ready for a few new winners before the season ends.
Ooooh I love Oscar questions... do you recall what it was?

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

Who is John Irving (The Cider House Rules)

The New England part cemented it for me.

I thought it was Steven King, as did one of the contestants. He's from Maine so that part fit. I was thinking Shawshank Redemption.

I didn't see the epi, but I would've known the answer immediately.* Irving is one of my favorite writers.

*This is not always the case with Final Jeopardy ;-)

I didn't know that one, but I love when I do know the answers during the show and the contestants flounder. It is such an ego boost.

So did I, until I discovered firsthand that it's much easier to recall information in a tee-shirt and jammy-pants on my living room sofa than in business attire on the podium with all the "lights, camera, action" and studio audience stuff and responses that count for $$$.

That's why I'm in my jammy pants on my squishy chair in front of the TV. I couldn't do it for real, but it is nice to know that I'm not a dummy sometimes.

    Re: Jeopardy!

I don't mean to brag (well, maybe a "little"), but I was on Jeopardy in the late 1980s. I came in second (lost to someone who went on to the Tournament of Champions), but I DID get Final Jeopardy right!!!!
