    Re: Jeopardy!

Current champ is Jerry Slowik, who wins his fifth game today. He's doing extremely well. For the second day in a row now he was the only one to get FJ right. Out of five games, he locked up four.

Tonight's winner's face...worked on or not? I thought yes but her teeth are bad/missing so I wondered.

I thought she looked like Vampira with a pulled out fang. High cheekbones and sculpted face - could be.

Intersting article at AV Club, well not so much the article as the comments underneath...follow the links in the story paragraph, and some former (and current) Jeopardy contestants talk about buzzer technique, the scary contract you have to sign, and playing against WATSON.

    Re: Jeopardy!

Well, it's obviously working, so good for him. I'm not rooting against him. In fact, the fact that people hate his gameplay makes me want him to win more. He's a mastermind genius, if anything.

    Anyway, the tournament started today.

First three were India Cooper, Chuck Forrest, and Jim Scott.

    The winner was

    Re: Jeopardy!

I find it annoying when people jump back and forward looking for the daily doubles. I mean, I can't fault them, but it bugs.
He's not the first though so why are people harping on him for it?

Since all of the contestants are fairly evenly matched as regards knowledge/intellect, the winning factor has to be strategy (with maybe a little luck) whether buzzer technique, going for the high numbers first, scoping out the DDs, and/or clever wagering. Good for him. Wish I'd have done it when I was on!

    And I love this post.

Chuck Forrest invented the strategy called the "Forrest Bounce", where he jumps from one category to another, confusing his fellow contestants and keeping him on top. Jeopardy strategy hate'rs probably aren't clever enough to come up with their own.
