I watched it with my son on Saturday. After all those opening shots with the Arizona memorial, it was nice to get the "backstory". (My son is learning about WWII and the Japanese internment in history this year, so this gave him more information on the subject.)

And we learned how to pronounce "katana" correctly.

Finally saw this ep on DVR.
After having seen the very first premier performance of George Takei's Allegiance in September last year, this was an okay follow-up.
    Good storyline, balanced perspective.
    Daniel Dae Kim was spot-on.

Did anyone recognize the actress playing the part of the realtor? It was Daryl "Mermaid" Hannah.

Maybe it's because we watch on a hi-def tv, but WOW

When my DD and I were watching last night she kept marveling on how much of Melanie's face does not move. lol. I had to pull up a pic before she had all the work done to so how cute she once was. Maybe it is her voice but it is hard for me to buy that she is Danny's mother.

Yes, I recognized Daryl Hannah right away, both face and voice. Nice surprise there; I hadn't realized she was going to be on.

I agree. She just didn't seem believable as his mom. I still enjoy the show, but I'm growing kind of tired of some of the stunt casting.

    Re: Hawaii 5-0 remake

I've mentioned before how much I enjoy seeing my Lost actors reunite. Well, Hawaii Five-0 has been renewed for a sixth season and Jorge Garcia has been promoted from recurring character (conspiracy theorist, Jerry Ortega, who is also Chin Ho's high school classmate) to series regular. Since this series is one of the extremely rare remakes that I like, this was double good news.
