Here's another one on showing the comparisons between the actual people that Boardwalk is based on and the casting. I thought it was interesting. I think I am going through serious withdrawal from this show!

Even though he was a killer, he was the heart and soul of that show for me. He was finally getting the family he yearned for ... and poor Tommy, losing yet another "parent" who loved him. Why coud he not pull the trigger to kill Narcisse? What happened? I hate this! Who is left who means anything ... Nucky, Chalky, and no one else. I don't even know why they bothered to show Margaret at all this season.

Richard was a "tragic hero" and tragic heroes always, always meet a tragic end. I cried when the scene changed to him under the boardwalk dying. But in his mind he walking toward his heaven - that family we know he yearned for. It made me remember his scrapbook. I keep re-watching this on demand and discover a new element each time. I am going to miss Richard even more than I did Jimmy. The fact that Richard lasted 4 seasons after only signing on for one is a testament to how beloved we found his character - and Houston's brilliant take on him.

I don't know if I can stand to watch the episode again. Just thinking about the last scene makes me cry. I wish just once the tragic hero could have beat the odds and gone off to be happy, living the life he always really wanted. JUST ONCE!! I don't know who's left that I really care about and am rooting for. They're all selfish and soulless, even Nucky himself.
