I'm going to hate when this season ends...I really look forward to this show!
Definitely post back! I thought it was anonymous, and that his letter to his wife had the return address. If it wasn't anonymous, maybe Angela will do the math and know the money was from Jimmy. I think Van Alden sent the money to Angela so as not to be tempted to use it for his wife's surgery (and violate his own religious inclinations about God's will in procreation). What a weirdo!

The season's only half way over. I'll miss it, too!! So glad it's already been renewed for next season.

I'm really hoping that Showtime will premiere The Borgias when Boardwalk Empire finishes Season 1, and that it will be as awesome as The Tudors (thereby distracting me from missing Boardwalk Empire.)

his name was on the letter to his wife.. they were both shown at the same time.. well one than the other till it was over... his reading his letter to his wife as a voice over.

So we know that Nucky has a soft spot of newborns or preemies (first episode). I'm thinking that his son must have died at birth or soon after. His wife may have died in childbirth or killed herself after the baby died. I'll take it a step further..... maybe the wife killed the baby because of depression and then Nucky had her killed! Just trying to cover all bases! This show really keeps you guessing and I LOVE IT!

I'm finally caught up on the episodes. This really is a great show! Do we know for a fact that Jimmy is not related to Nucky? I have this weird feeling that Nucky and the mom had hooked up back in the day.

We know nothing, for sure, yet. Like you, I tend to think Nucky is his dad. Others think Jimmy could be Nucky's brother.

The agent flogging himself....... something told me that would happen. Him sending all of the money to Jimmy's baby mamma, that I did not see at all. I figured he would send the money to his wife for her operation for sure!

Exactly! How could he sit on all of that ill-gotten money and not give his wife what she felt she needed to complete her life? I was definitely surprised that he sent the money to Angela, though. By taking the money, do you think he was trying to get Jimmy to appear?

I don't think that agent has any idea how to do things. I think he is intimidated by the power these men possess because he is put down by his superiors and maybe he was trying to harm Jimmy by keeping the money from his family. I got the impression that if he wanted to find Jimmy, it wouldn't have been that hard. He wasn't actually hiding from anyone, he just had nothing left in Atlantic City (in his own mind).

Jimmy was "put out" of AC by Nucky....knowing that Nucky is not a man to be ignored, since he was in charge of everything AC. It was not Jimmy's idea to leave. I think Van Alden (the "revenuer") was trying to make Jimmy come to him.
