They're finally wrapping up the Bates saga, thank goodness. The outcome is already such a forgone conclusion that I'm glad they're not dragging it out anymore. Some interesting turns in Tom's story; is Matthew slowly trying to get him to take over the tenant's dormant farm?
It's funny to see them at breakfast: It used to be Lord Grantham completely outnumbered by women, but nowadays it's been all men at the table except for Edith.
Through the tragedy, I've really admired Elizabeth McGovern's acting. She'd navigated the stages of Cora's grief so well. I liked the Dowager Countess' solution to bringing down the wall between Cora and Robert.
And I'm LOVING Daisy's new opportunities. Also the downstairs drama between Daisy, Ivy, Alfred and James the new hottie. Also how the tension is getting thicker between James and Thomas, but it looks like that one is going to really play out next week. O'Brien wasn't kidding when she said she'd take her time getting her revenge on Thomas. (Of course I wish more that James would return Thomas' advances, but that's just my little corner of the world, lol)
This week's shenanigans with Ethel was more entertaining, thanks to intertwining it with the Grantham family more. Mrs. Padmore is such a hoot! And seeing gruff Carson getting no support for his disgust was funny in the end.
