April 4, 2011 - season 2 episode 15 - Seizure
Stargate Universe: Seizure Episode Summary on TV.com
This is the best episode of Stargate universe I have seen. Both Ronald McKay and Richard Woolsey appear and you can feel as it you are actually watching a continuation of SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Nicely done. Too bad more of the episodes in this series could not have this wonderful blend of the old shows and the new.Quote:
Rodney McKay and Richard Woolsey try to convince the planet Langara to use their naquadria core to power a Stargate and create a wormhole to Destiny. However, Telford and Young suspect that the Lucian Alliance has already negotiated a treaty with the Langarans. Meanwhile, Amanda creates a virtual reality so she and Rush can interact physically, with dangerous consequences.
April 11, 2011 - episode 16 - The Hunt
Stargate Universe Season 2 Episode Guide on TV.com
Two story arcs, the main one tracking down TJ and the redskirt captured by the aliens, a bit of a side bar with Sargent Greer questioning himself and has he lost his edge. To Rush being his usual acerbic self yet underneath actually acting as a cupid and sorta being nice in his own weird way. In fact I liked the Dr Rush storyline much better then the other. I think that was always Stargate Universe's problem, it never established a clear identity, the dark maudlin weekly tragedy it tried to portray was dismay and depressing at best and this show also took forever to get anywhere. We had the latest multiple story arc with the drones of a dead race still killing of other races and of course Chloe going alien and being cured, but so what its over, did it achieve anything, did it advance the story?Quote:
While exploring an alien planet, the Destiny crew come into conflict with a creature that abducts two of their members.
Oh, new time slot for next week, the previous week's episode airs at 8pm and then the current week's episode airs at 9pm.
Next four episodes set up for a multiple story arc that started with the Twin Destiny episode and leads to the season finale and cliff hanger.
April 18, 2011 - Common Descent
A continuation of the Twin Destiny episode. These are the descendants of the crew that vanished while trying to jump back to Earth. This starts a 4 part story arc that ends in the season 2 finale/cliffhanger. Interesting how the writers are tying in the drones and the vanished crew together. Also interesting considering how the crew all hate Rush, he becomes a godlike figure in the descendants culture. Rush godlike? mmmmmm............ in his own mind yes but in others....that is a tad baffling.Quote:
A colony of humans on an alien planet claim that they are the 2,000-year-old descendants of Destiny's crew.
April 25, 2011 - Epilogue
Stargate Universe: Epilogue Episode Summary on TV.com
The Destiny crew attempt to aid the civilization inhabiting a planet on the brink of destruction due to seismic activity.
Saw Epilogue, very good episode. Two main story arcs, the Destiny crew find the planet archives and we get to see the alternate Destiny settle the planet "Novis", who they married, and who had babies. Then we see the present crew reacting to the alternate history and trying to scavenge as many supplies as possible, upload the archive databanks while racing the impeding doom of the city by lava. Nice tension, setting up possible future story arcs for season 3 that will never be.
A little teaser at the end...looked like a drone mother ship was hiding on the planet.
Monday, May 9, 2011 is the season 2 finale as well as the show finale.
May 2, 2011 - Blockage
Not a bad story, drones everywhere. Destiny cannot refuel. Found another planet the alternate Destiny descendents colonized. Those descendents sure breed like rats./mice/bunnies. Rush making jokes, and mentoring Eli. Who knew. I think if more of the stories had been like this this series would have been more successful.
