I just love this show.
Will she? Or won't she?
I hope she does!
If she leaves her husband for Will at this point in the series they'd have to change the name of the show, as someone pointed out many pages ago...plus you'd lose a lot of conflict/sexual tension.... So I'm guessing, nope. Will didn't give her a map (he really doesn't know her well if he thinks she'd just do that to her kids on the spur of the moment), she's not leaving...yet. At least her husband turned down the waitress, but obviously there's going to be continual temptation....
Maybe he was calling back to give her his plan :shrug
I thought it was a great season finale! I thought the main story was good and twisty and I'm always happy to see Amy Acker! I did feel like that story was dropped a bit - it would have been nice to see a scene with her knowing she'd been found out, even if they couldn't turn her in. Looks like Kalinda did the turning in herself. SO maybe Kalinda is bi now....or is she just flirting to get what she wants?
I like the relationship between Christine Baranski and Gary Cole - it's nicely complicated. Plus, it's good to see some flirting (and not the innocuous kind) between people who are over 50.
Honestly, I don't find Josh Charles all that attractive, but I think Will is pretty charming. I don't know who I'd choose, but I have a feeling Alicia will stay with Peter. Still, when Gold asked her if she was going to make his life difficult, she did say yes. I hope Alan Cumming will be back next season. I love seeing him in this role, which is such a change for him.
Cary sure has moved over to the dark side very well, hasn't he? I guess that's needed on this show, but since I've never really liked Cary, I'd be happy to see him leave. He's always struck me as someone who's out for himself, even when he was competing with Alicia. I think he only refused that other job so he could tell the senior partners about it and make himself look good. I felt like Alicia did her job well and, although she really wanted the position, she didn't actually start politicking for it until the very end.
At best he was calling back to say, give me time to come up with a plan. I certainly wouldn't expect he'd have a good one in 30 seconds, would you? And she was out of time.... Maybe she'll give Peter a trial run until the election. She can always leave then.....
Re Alicia and the job....she's like a lot of women who think that if they just quietly do a great job someone will notice and reward them. They have to learn that in the real world you've got to kick off that bushel basket you're hiding under and let your little light SHINE. The higher ups are usually too busy doing their own job to run around looking under baskets to see if you are doing yours. She also seemed to have an unrealistic idea of what doing a good job means in a law firm , which is kind of amazing. It isn't "just" about winning cases, it's about billable hours. You can win all the cases you want, but the more hours you bring into the firm the more valued you are. I felt a little sorry for her competition....he was working really hard, making sure his clients paid up, doing the best any normal associate can do to bring in business, and she uses her contacts to trump him. Yes, he would have if he'd had them, but it was not a fair race in that sense.

Yeah, what with To Kill a Mockingbird and all, people forget it 's really a business.... It's like our view of doctors.... Yes, they both may want to help people, but you have to keep afloat to do it.... and sometimes the floating part gets to be more important....especially in big corporate firms.
While I loved the finale, there was part of me that kept thinking that their client and the subsequent plot was created purely for things to start moving along with Alicia, Carey, et al. I really felt like there was some type of a jump between last episode and this one.
Very curious to see what next season brings and if they start from the moment they left off.
Loved the finale - of course she won't she's the "good wife", but I still want her to have an affair with Will - something non-committal....just for MY pleasure.
