    Firefly on Fox

Is anybody else watching this show? I've seen all 3 episodes and I am just loving it. It's very much sci-fi with a western kind of flair. The characters are all great, the stories are great, and the one-liners are hysterical. It's my favorite show of the new season.

I've been watching. It's pretty good. I missed a lot of this past week's episode because I went to the movies to see Red Dragon. I'm still anxious for this week's though!

You tapin' em, Zhora? I've heard good things, and I love good sci-fi, but this show didn't make my radar.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

I let Tivo tape 'em until I have a chance to watch. I think tonight's episode is being pre-empted for baseball or something. It's not like a soap opera or anything Paulie. You should be able to ascertain a lot about the characters even if you start watching mid-season. I would be happy to recap the first 3 episodes and tell you more about the characters if you start watching and feel like you've missed something.

    Firefly rocks.

I checked the TV Guide, and it said that last night's (10/11) episode of Firefly is postponed until next Friday.

    Wow, talk about a bump!

Since Castle has become so popular and there's been discussion of Firefly in that thread, I thought I'd bump this one. Netflix just made all of the episodes available to watch streaming on their site, so I've been watching them this weekend. I forgot how much I LOVE this show! It's so fun to watch a show that's a few years old and see all the actors who are now well-known. I've already seen a young Zac Efron playing Simon as a young boy and Christina Hendricks (from Mad Men) playing Mal's "wife" Saffron.

I don't watch V, so I didn't realize that the actress who played Inara is like the head alien on V. I didn't recognize her in the commercials with her hair so short.

Watching the show makes me even more sad that it got canceled and that Fox didn't give it a chance to really catch on.

ETA: for anyone new to the show who wants to watch on Netflix, they have the episodes out of order. Make sure you watch what they have listed as episode 3 first - it's the 1 1/2 hour pilot that sets up the show.

I totally recommend that anyone who hasn't seen Firefly and who loves Nathan Fillion or Adam Baldwin or Alan Tudyk, or Gina Torres, etc., etc., etc., watch Firefly when you can. I bought the set and the Serenity follow-up movie because they are eminently rewatchable for me as I suspect Castle will be.

I don't watch Mad Men, but I saw Christina Hendricks in a few episodes of NBC's Life and I just haven't been drawn to V, but I did know Morena Baccarin is starring in it.
