What the heck has happened to this show? It's awful now. Plus is Kim Delaney in rehab or something because she's been missing from the past 2 shows. I find myself fast forwarding through most of the show.
I think the writing has just gone down hill. I'm not sure what has happened. Last night was very average to below average IMO. Have they wasted Kelly Martin on such a boring and uneventual storyline? That greeting from her partner was so lackluster last night. I'm not convinced they are lovers.
Even though there was a tragic death, everything was still quite boring. When are things with the main characters going to start going somewhere. What was the point of that entire deployment? It seems just to get that Army wife killed. Not much else happened.
IMO the show jumped the shark when Pamela left. It used to be a "can't miss". Now I find that I DVR it and end up fast forwarding through most of it. It's too bad...it seems that it went downhill very quickly. I have no idea what's going on with Kim Delaney/Claudia Joy Holden...I wish I knew.
There was such a build up to this season and I keep waiting and waiting for something to happen. It's almost as if they weren't sure if the show was going to be renewed and are in limbo as to what direction to take the characters.
I seem like the only one, but I'm enjoying this season, with the exception of Claudia Joy being gone. I don't mind the story lines, so far, and I'm grateful that my favorite characters are, for the most part, doing fine.
I think in a way they are showing more realistically the daily lives of army personel with the husbands or wives being deployed, their fears (especially when they can't hear from their loved ones directly), the children's reactions to family members being in harms way, etc. That being said, I still like the first couple of years with the four women and their friendships, even though in reality it would not have been so.
I also don't understand the army wife that took over CJ's job. In the first couple of episodes she came across as very strong, almost mean, and the last two episodes (since CJ hasn't been on) her character has done an 180 degree turn...seems meek, not sure of herself. I agree that the show does not know in which direction they are heading in. I feel that Kim Delaney's departure was a rushed one and now they are trying to rewrite her replacement's story line. something just seems off.
I only have a kitchen because it came with the house.
Claudia Joy's "equivalent" is a prescription pill popping druggie who is trying to hide her habit. The show has been OK. I do not miss Pamela at all. I think some of our friends want these shows to be real!
The way Kim Delaney was slurring at that awards show, it wouldn't surprise me if she was in rehab. She does have a history of substance abuse, as I understand.

This is the text of an article from 'Celebrity Circuit' from last September 23, 2011. There's also an attached video of Kim's speech:
"(CBS/AP) PHILADELPHIA - Kim Delaney, star of the television show "Army Wives," had to be escorted from the podium at an event in Philadelphia after delivering a rambling and incoherent speech. It happened Thursday at an event honoring former Defense Secretary Robert Gates. The actress, 49, fidgeted at the podium and talked about having "served in active military duty family for five years." "I've seen soldiers come home with painful life altering injuries borne of their time and service," the Philadelphia native said. "I've attended numerous military funerals, including that of my best friend's son." Delaney then went on to say that she was talking about her role on the Lifetime series. "It's all make believe. I do that as a job. It's make believe," she said. "I have the luxury to do all of this on a television show." CBS' Philadelphia station reported that the teleprompter at the event was not working and that Delaney appeared to go off-script, struggling to deliver her speech and leaving long, awkward pauses between sentences. After several minutes, a video began to play. She was escorted away from the podium to a chair on the side of the stage by a woman who appeared to be a producer. Her publicist did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment. The event Thursday at National Constitution Center was in honor of Gates. He received the 2011 Liberty Medal, a civic award, for his long public service career. Delaney has reportedly battled alcohol addiction in the past. According to People magazine, she was arrested in 2002 on suspicion of drunk driving after refusing a breathalyzer test, and later pleaded no contest. She also reportedly entered rehab twice for alcohol addiction." http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-20110998-10391698.html
It's great to see Jackie starting to lose it. I really don't like her. However, the show just isn't the same w/o Claudia Joy. She needs to come back.
