And how are these fresh-out-of-high school kids affording to live in these awesome apartments?
OMG - that was about all I could think about last night Mercedes maybe -because she of course graduated, moved to LA, and immediately got a recording contract. And I know that must be realistic, because Rachel is already starring in a Broadway show and Santana got the understudy And while the others are all sharing space - that's some serious space they're sharing. It would go for a pretty penny in NYC!! And then Blaine and Sam were just going to move out and find their own place? Like it's that simple? No worries about first and last month, security deposit...the price of NYC rent?

    Re: Glee

I remember one of the first episodes when Mercedes had a crush on Kurt and busted the windows out of his SUV, which was either an Escalade or the Lincoln version. I figured he was a rich kid, then we find out his dad is a mechanic. It does irritate me how they ignore the cost of things.
I hate when the cops throw me in the back of the squad car ....like they didn’t hear me call shotgun.

Does anyone know if they are actually filming in NYC or a lot in LA? Some of the scenes like Central Park seemed real.

I recognized Paramount Studios in the NY street, subway staircase scenes, and indoor scenes. The subway underground scenes looked a lot like the LA subways.

    Re: Glee

The interior scenes are probably still being filmed in LA, but they have been doing extensive filming all over NYC as well.

Darren Criss has been showing up at my local piano bar again recently. Last time he brought Jesse Tyler Ferguson with him. (Wish I was there that night)

A girl from my city had her photo taken recently with Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet. She is a college student in NYC and a huge Glee fan! She said they are filming some scenes in NYC.

Subway and most street scenes are Paramount Studios.
Take the basic studio tour. Its a no-brainer.

    Re: Glee

When they arrived in NYC, they filmed in several locations and ended up in Washington Square (where Rachel's limo met them) which is where NYU is located. Most of the subway street entrances were actual locations. Darren and Chord filmed their big number in the middle of Times Square. And Rachel actually was in Chinatown.

I can tell the difference b/w the LA backlot versions of NYC and the real deal. They still don't have it down yet.

I recognized this view (though with different writing on the signs in the windows) from the Paramount lot:
