Castle on ABC

I don't really care what happened to Kate's mom. It reminds me of Crossing Jordan -I didn't care what happened to her mom, either. And I know it's been a while since the finale but I couldn't remember half of the stuff vis a vis who was involved which also dampened my enthusiasm. When the other case came up my response was "Oh, good" but they handled it pretty perfunctorily.
When his daughter asked him if Beckett made him happy, and he said yes, my response was that you couldn't tell it by this episode. I'm with others - bring back the levity. Heck, even the lighting was dark last night.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! The "Kate's mom" story line has gone on too long for me. I don't mind when the show dabbles in a little seriousness, but for gosh sakes! One of the charming things about Castle is the lighthearted quirky romance and fun. Last night even the new captain took my blood pressure up a notch. This isn't what I watch Castle for. Still love the main care characters, just want to get back to the FUN.

Kate remembering everything was really predictable, not only because that was spoiled all over the blogs. I wonder how long we'll have to wait until Castle finds out.

I wasn't even spoiled, but expected that she had remembered everything.

Solid epi - glad they're backburning the mother thing though. I don't mind it being a thread throughout, but after the way it took over several epis leading up to the finale of last year, they needed to address it in the premiere.

I expected this first episode to be kinda dark themed with what happened at the end of last season but hopefuly we will soon be back to our quick wit, smart a$$ed, sarcastic show we all love

Kate looked gaunt this episode...great make up or she really worked for the part. But I,too, am glad we are going back to lighter stuff. Obviously the "final season" will solve the mom's murder and then Kate will be open for love.

Now that's the type of show that makes me want to watch Castle. I am feeling twinges of anxiety at the thought of Alexis leaving or at least being less visible. And does that mean that Mona will have less of a presence?

I have to admit I don't mind Alexis having a little less appearance - besides she applied for spring admission, they didn't mention she was accepted - yet.

This was a fun episode because of the sheer oddity of it. You also have the wonderful banter amongst the group that has kept this show going on.

I do wonder however, if Stephen Cannell Were still alive, if they'd had a poker scene here with Castle discussing it and Cannell making some comment about "The Greatest American Hero" and Ralph Hinkley.

But she was acting like she was already in so it was confusing. Because apparently Stanford accepts all comers (not saying she isn't smart, but so are all the applicants). I have to say I was disappointed in Alexis this episode; she never struck me as the type who would even entertain the thought of taking all the courses her boyfriend is taking rather than making her own choices. It's enough that she's choosing a university based on her boyfriend's choice (I mean, did he consult her when choosing a school?). Regarding her continued appearance on the show, maybe they will have her not getting accepted to Stanford but instead going to a school nearer the city, such as Yale or Princeton.
The new captain still bugs.
