I love this show so much. It's almost like the crimes are mere subplots. Great episode.
Given the number of excellent, long-running, & spin-off crime dramas (e.g. L&O, CSI), I like this show's unique comedy approach & a strong, yet feminine, female detective as the lead. Nathan Fillion & Stana Katic have great chemistry together as well as interaction with the supporting roles. The cast & writing of this show are fabulous!
The only bad thing about this weeks episode is that the bet wasn't won and neither team had to shave their hair or wear a dress to work for the week. That would have been hilarious.
I was really impressed with how that bet really created a sense of comradery with the entire crew.
I agree though, I was rooting for a winner because I wanted to see someone lose that bet!
Tonight's episode was really good. Beckett modeled? Wonder how long it takes for those guys to blab it to him. :laugh
This show is just so good. I almost always know early on who is guilty, but I don't care. It's the getting there that's so much fun. Nick and Beckett are a fabulous pair -- so funny when he caught her slip that showed she was very familiry with the movie, "Showgirls."
The preview for next week's show had me laughing out loud! Castle's reaction to the case - something like "This is the best case EVER!" while Beckett is miserable - was classic. Can't wait!
I'm thrilled that Nathan Fillion finally has a bonafide hit show! I've been a fan since his days on OLTL and always thought he'd be a big star. He's so charismatic and has great comic timing! I'm so happy for Nathan that he can finally really show off his talent. The writing on this show is fantastic . Plus, I love the little touches. Castle in his Kevlar vest with "Writer" emblazoned across the front = :rofl
In case anyone is interested, it looks like ABC has produced a Richard Castle book - Heat Wave - I got an email from the publisher this morning. I haven't done any reading to see who the writer is, but it might be fun to read.
I like that while there is chemistry between the two leads the writers have given it a bit of a back seat and we get to see the two of them throw clever quips at each other. In fact this week's episode was a real ensemble piece. I liked how the 2 minor detectives where not totally regulated to the background and the relationship between Castle, his mother and daughter are priceless.
I really like those two guys. They aren't bumbling putzes like a lot of the sidekicks are written to be. I like the two guys on the Mentalist, too. We need more of those types of characters. Good stuff. :nodQuote:
