What is up with Alpha and who did he turn Caroline into...?
And I am mad about him cutting up Victor's pretty face!
I was wondering as well... he didn't turn her into Caroline, right? So they must have met up on some assignment...and he's still in that character and turned her back into hers? OR he was a client at one point and turned her back into that character.
Did someone grab the FBI guy through the missing risers and that's why he fell down the stairs? Who was it though? Echo? Alpha?

Yeah. It will be interesting to see what Alpha's connection is to Echo. I'm also curious about who the person is that he put into Echo, because it's not necessarily Caroline.

As I was seeing them head out in the elevator to start whatever new thing they are starting, I realized that Alpha and Echo have the same initial letters as Adam and Eve. Wonder if that was on purpose.

Edited to add: Weren't there some Garden of Eden references in the show last night?

I have a few questions, if any knows I'd appreciate your understanding. According to Sierra's report, Alpha stole the identity of the guy he killed, and then we saw that he pretended to be the environmentalist that designed the dollhouse. He certainly knew enough details about it - does he have some Heroes superpower, or does he have his own brain-scanning chair? How did he know how to get into the dollhouse?

According to the description from TV Guide, next weeks show
will have have an active being permanently deactivated.... Will that be Victor? I really like him and was mad that Alpha slashed him but I suppose since his scars are deeper, he is wasted..... Yes? Also, the TV Guide blip said Ballard's search for the Dollhouse coming to a conclusion - oh oh, anyone else think that sounds like Ballard becomes a doll?

    Echo did.

Thanks for saying who Alpha was. He looked familiar but I couldn't remember from where.

Okay, here are the things I have heard in clips from the show pieced together:
Alpha is the only doll who was ever able to come out of his 'doll state'... apparently he also retained (his brain stored them (hid them, whatever)) all the past identities he was given as a doll: thus, he has all the combined skills from every one of his missions. That is why Adelle called him a genius. He was able to do all that stuff to the computer (when they were breaking in) because he has been loaded with super FBI/CIA/etc... skills in the past. Hacking the scientific stuff with the dolls to send covert messages=super scientist skills. Basically, Alpha is a super-human because his brain carries so much knowledge.

Now, the question is, is Alpha truly just a loon (the guy who became alpha was messed up before he became a doll in the first place) who now has ridiculous abilities because of all these skills piled into his brain...
or did all the recovery/activation of this enormous amount of information overload Alpha and screw him up? I mean, when you think about it: all those missions...all that info... (skills for one scientist take lifetimes to learn!! & alpha probably has about ten different versions of scientists (not to mention other specialists)) floating around in ONE noggin'. I'm thinking it is just another implied question for whedon to explore with his audience: can too much knowledge destroy? Can humans be entrusted with ultimate knowldege...etc...?

note: others have pointed out similarities bw alpha and echo, with parallels drawn (for the audience) around echo's ability to retain past missions as a doll (bc dolls, once wiped, should never remember anything...remember alpha kept drawing the greek word for alpha)
also, apparently alpha went 'rogue' a few times in his missions, just like echo has: we have heard a few warnings about echo turning into another alpha (apparently dolls should NOT have the ability or desire to go outside of their assigned personalities/skills).

Thanks so much and this speculation makes a lot of sense. I don't know whether he flipped Echo back to Caroline or not, but she remembers him and he does love her - what will they do about the Dollhouse???????

Miss Griss-- interesting point about Alpha/Echo, Adam/Eve...

Mike'sgirl--I don't get the impression Alpha gives a hoot about the other dolls, other than Echo, so he won't want to "do anything" about the dollhouse except in as much as it will prevent people from trying to track them down. His only reason for returning was to rescue Echo so far as I can tell. Now Echo might care about Sierra...
