I recorded the show, but the ball game put The Good Wife late and therefore the Mentalist started late and I missed the last few minutes of the show! I was ticked. So my DVR cut off at the point where the blonde excused herself to go and get another bottle of wine. Was it poisoned? What happened?
When she went to get the other bottle of wine, she also got her gun. Once Jane figured out that she was the lynchpin, she decided to get rid of him.
But the last time that Lisbon had called him, when he put the phone on the table? He left the line open so that Lisbon and Kim could hear everything.
She pulled her gun, Jane went over the side into the water, the FBI helicopter showed up and took her into custody.
(BTW, your DVR might let you change the start and end times of shows. On Sundays during football, I routinely add another half-hour to the end unless I hear differently...for example, last Sunday, CBS tweeted that the shows were running 5 minutes late, so I changed the end time to only extend for 5 minutes, not 30.)
For me the whole dynamic has changed and I'm not sure I'm liking it. For one, I want Jane to shave, put on the vest and get his old funny car back. Lisbon now seems to be low man on the team with the new girl (who I don't like at all) and Cho over her. Instead of their old, comfy office they are now in this sterile modern office. They haven't brought in new faces to replace Rigsby and Van Pelt and the 'magic' of the old team is totally gone.
The changes made from The Closer to Major Crimes are minor with the new boss as someone we've been introduced to while Kyra was still there and we grew to like her before Kyra left. So the old 'magic' of the team remains.
I'll keep watching for now because The Mentalist has long been a favorite of mine, but I'm not sure this show will bring back the numbers of viewers that it had in it's first few seasons. That said, I still love Patrick Jane and Lisbon and the old Cho. I hope the new mix of characters will grow on me, but I don't see it yet.
I agree, the dynamic is different, especially with Lisbon not being the boss now (good point!), but essentially only there because Jane wanted her there (although I'm sure she will prove her worth asap), but I'm still so relieved to have it be 2 years in the future so Jane is over his RJ brooding and moving past the intense grieving for his wife and daughter, that I'll take this and see how it works.
I wasn't as impressed with last night's episode as I was the ones before it. I think I'll keep watching though. I really like this guy. There's something about the way he gets this curious smile on his face. I'd like to see a little more action by this guy.lol
Didn't he sleep with that FBI agent in Spain? I think they had a few drinks and got caught up. Do you think they did it? lol
Glad to see Rigsby and Van Pelt back, but not crazy about her bangs. Looks as if they will be around for a while.
I thought last night's episode was a little better than the last.
I figured out something that bothers me. The two lead FBI ladies, the old one and the new one, look too much alike. They have similar hair color and style, similar dress, etc. They need one blonde or one red head. They just blend together too much. Plus, they act alike. Why bother having two characters so similar? Plus, they are rather boring characters at this point that don't add much to the storyline.
Once again I had the feeling last night that the show that I used to like so much is back.:)
