I'm thinking they set it up so that Van Pelt and Rigsby could be on different teams (since the other team was wiped out, they would have to replace them.) I need to rewatch the whole episode again before I comment on things, but it was an intense one this time. I hated that Boscoe was killed because I was getting to really like the guy.

Possibly, but I think the case will go back to the original team, and I see no reason why any of the members would need to fill in on another team. They weren't short to begin with, Minelli decided it was to close and personal for Jane.... so he removed the entire team. Now, at least it seems - they will all be back working on "red john".

bell: Interesting, I noticed her smile and wondered why.... it is possible she did see him. But, I didn't see her swallow anything or smell anything.....(although that could be something we see in a recap next week).... and have not been able to figure out how she was poisoned...... unless it was before she was captured and it takes time to kill her, or, we have not yet been shown that detail.

How frustrating for Jane, the one "mistake" red john made, ended up destroyed evidence.

I also am wondering what else Bosco said to Jane before he died, since he didn't admit to Lisbon that he agreed to kill RJ instead of arresting him, there could be more.

I definitely saw that the person the sec. was smiling at (RJ I assume), who was dressed in khaki like a guard or other official worker, touched her hand and put some kind of greenish goo on it (the poison). They flased on it, and later when she was dead, on a red "burn" type mark in the same spot. I don't know if she knew she was going to die, maybe she took it that he was there planning her rescue.

We all saw different things.. I saw the person touch her hand. At first I thought she had been stabbed. When I realized that wasn't the case, I immediately thought that she'd been injected with something.
I hate when the cops throw me in the back of the squad car ....like they didn’t hear me call shotgun.

I saw her smile and then the guard put the goo on her arm. I kind of had a feeling that the person they weren't showing coming from the opposite direction was going to do something to her. There was really no point to keep her alive past this episode.

That's what I saw as well. Hard to say if she knew what was actually happening.

Yes, I slowed to frame by frame. I saw her walking, then seeing someone there and a huge smile, then as the unknown person walks by I saw his gloved hand put some green goo on her hand. He was in khakis and I saw either a walkie or a handgun, then he walks away and all I could tell from behind was a man with a short haircut. He did have some kind of uniform on and the guard escorting her didn't blink an eye when he passed close to them, and tv notwithstanding, they'd want a wide berth of people who didn't belong there around a cop killer.

    Re: The Mentalist

Thank you to those of you that were observant enough to see RJ touch her - my attention was divided toward the end, and I couldn't tell - was she still at the CBI building, or was she already at a prison when RJ touched her?
I am assuming the bruised sore like spot on her wrist was the location that the poison made contact and was absorbed into her blood stream. I doubt she knew that RJ was getting rid of her.... she probably thought he was giving her a loving, reassuring touch. Oh well, I hope that RJ is resolved by the season end this year, and not something that we have to live though the series until it's final season. I like shows that are neatly wrapped each show.

    Re: The Mentalist

I think they had taken her down to the basement....either they had cells down there or were on their way to a garage to get her into a jail somewhere.

Once she went down, the agents upstairs heard about it through an intercom or walkie-talkie, and Patrick ran out of the room, ran down stairs and yelled to the security/cops to not touch her. That's when we saw the reddened area around where the green goo was on her arm. And don't forget the foaming around the mouth!

After that, Patrick was seen banging his hand and maybe even his head into the wall. (That scene had been on the commercials prior to the show and lead many of us to believe that one of the core agents had been killed.....what a twist to have all those others killed and the secretary in cahoots with Red John!)

she did smile - but she smiled at everyone as she passed them. She almost seemed proud of what she'd done. At least that's how I interpretted it.
