Re: Fringe on FOX

I really hope the stories are episode to episode with some building plot throughout a la X files
instead of just 1 big long story that drags and builds and twists itself into oblivion Prison Break style.
Maybe old age is setting in, but shows like Lost are just getting to be too big of a tangled mess with not enough resolutions for my taste. I have already given up on Prison Break completely.

But a new fangled X files done JJ Abrams style, THAT is something I could get in to.

Re: Fringe on FOX

After all the massive hype, I have to say that it was very meh. I like the doctor character and that actor is extremely talented. The overdone sarcasm from his son got old very quickly.

Lots of special effects and gory makeup for the shock factor, and the episode opened with a sex scene, so I am left thinking that JJ has gone all Hollywood.

Even though I missed some of the dialogue due to sound levels (probably premeditated for hype/rewatch reasons), I wasn't interested enough to rewind or rewatch.

And coincidentally, LOST's Pilot was re-aired on CW this week. If you put those 2 shows' pilots up for comparision, well, Fringe is the big loser.

Re: Fringe on FOX

I agree that it wasn't all it was hyped up to be, but there was enough there to hold my interest for a while. I'll give it a few weeks before giving up on it...at least I didn't fall asleep like some of you.

Re: Fringe on FOX

My son and I loved it and we were constantly catching ourselves seeing similarities with it and Lost...lots of number correlations (815 and 108)....we didn't find it boring at all!

JJ Abrams is one kooky guy! I joked with my son that JJ has managed to scare off my son from wanting to fly in a plane thanks to Lost and now Fringe or go visit New York thanks to Cloverfield!

Re: Fringe on FOX

Really, really liked it on first viewing; loved it on second. Fringe gets added to my very small list of must-watch shows.
