I'm giving the show once last try but I'm getting a little sick of every show being about filthy rich people.

Neither was the original, but it is silly escapism.

And the father is...drumroll...Dylan! So he's off doing good deeds for the world but doesn't think being a good dad to his son is important? .

I'm actually kind of liking this new one. Of course, it's nowhere near what the original was, and there is some questionable acting, but it is entertaining. I can totally see how they are trying to mirror the old one in the "family time" and trying to get a new "gang" together. I do like that they've brought some of the old characters back, even having (the formerly little Erin) Silver - who I think is my favorite character so far on this new one. My secret hope is that they end up balancing the older character storylines with the younger ones.
I really don't like the lead girl Annie - Shenae Grimes. She waaaaaay overacts, especially with her facial reactions.
And I love that Dylan is the daddy of Kelly's little boy.

Wasn't Dylan, er, Luke Perry, in his 30s when he was on the original 90210? So now he's gotta be close to 50? I'd think they are going to need some help from Dr. 90210 if they are going to play him as a 30 something on this new series. LOL!

I'm OK with Dylan as daddy. It makes more sense that he'd be the absentee dad what with his family background. Still, I always loved the Kelly/Brandon pairing.... Frankly, I'm just happy they didn't make Steve the daddy . I have to give them credit though for not making us wait forever for the reveal...They did a good job with making it seem like it was up in the air and they were going to wait to see which guy they could get to come back.

. According to IMDB he was born in 1965 so that would make him 43. How old is Kelly and crew supposed to be now? I don't know, I bet he could pull it off, age wise. Now Shannen Doherty on the other hand? She has not aged well at all. She looks every bit her age and then some (b. 1971).

Katydyd, I'm glad Steve isn't the father either. I would have liked it to be Brandon too.
