And isn't Stephen Moyer who plays Bill British?

Yes! It was nice to hear him speaking normally (for him) last night in the Postmortem piece.

I didn't realize Pam wasn't a series regular. So glad to hear that she is now b/c her snark is THE BEST!!

DH, who is unspoiled (ha-ha--that just sounds funny!), was really starting to freak out with the Bill & Sam scene while I was chuckling beside him. They pulled it off really well; I thought it was very believable!! And I was when Bill said, "I heard the water in Arkansas is HARD" or whatever it was he said. That was funny!

I know I said it upthread, but I LOVED that scene! Honestly, it's the first time I've found Bill even remotely sexy. Stephen Moyer is sexy, but Bill is a stick in the mud and super DULL. The hard water remark was hilarious! As soon as Bill said something about Sam having a lot of his blood, I knew it was a dream, but I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't 'cause it was HOT!

I was watching an interview with Kristin Bauer and she said something about sitting at a table read and thinking how hot the cast is! I agree! All of the guys looked amazing last night....and Alcide hasn't even hit town yet!

So, while I thought the show last night tried to cram too much into too little time, I'm so happy the show is back, I'm not going to quibble! I think we needed to "catch up" with everyone, but now I'd prefer if they focus on just a few story lines in each episode.

Loving the friendship between Andy and Jason and how Andy is protecting him. I cheered when Lafayette carried Tara out of the house and told off her mother...and told her that he wouldn't ever forgive her for the gun incident.

I found that I like ERW as the queen much better in this episode than I did last season. There's more gravitas now. Last season, she seemed like the vamp answer to Paris Hilton and, while the queen was young when she was turned, she's an old vamp and that petulant socialite act was a bit silly. Her performance in this episode gave me hope. I can't wait for Russell Edgington to show up. The previews of him make me practically giddy!

Have to agree after watching the Postmortem that the actors that play Bill and Jason are both sexier in their "own" voices! WOW!!

So many things to say about this but I'll just sum them up by saying, "Bring it on!!!" Regarding the bold-- how do I get a script to him??

‘True Blood’s’ Skarsgard is happy to get naked

‘I love the scene ... it’s a good introduction to Eric,’ he says of racy 1st scene

Alexander Skarsgard plays sexy vampire Eric Northman on HBO's "True Blood," and he isn't shy when it comes to filming his racier scenes.

LOS ANGELES — Alexander Skarsgard made a big — and bare — impression when he returned to the screen as vampire sheriff Eric Northman on "True Blood's" season three premiere on Sunday.

Those who have seen the episode will know that the Swedish actor's first on-screen moment was made up of his backside.

"Do you mean (expletive) when you say backside?" he probed Access Hollywood when asked about his naked return at the show's recent premiere in Los Angeles.

"I love the scene," he said with a smile. "It's a fun scene. I think it's a good introduction to Eric in season three."

Although he had to bare his bottom for all to see, it wasn't an issue for the lanky Swede.

"I don't really care about that stuff," he said of stripping for the small screen. "There's some ... there's much more graphic stuff coming up later in the season. So that doesn't really bother me. If it makes sense when I read it, I'm happy to throw my clothes off."

Beyond the occasional lack of clothing, Eric is expected to grow closer to Bill Compton's ladylove, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) in the coming episodes, and Skarsgard explained why.

"He's obviously attracted to her and he's intrigued by her," Skarsgard said. "He's trying to figure out what she is. He doesn't really know that. She is special. And of course he is going to pursue that in season three."

Really nice recap/review of the first episode on HuffPo: Mark Blankenship: True Blood Sucker Punch: Season 3, Ep. 1

My favorite part (because it expresses exactly why I loved the scene):
You know what else I'd love to see grow? This running theme that once you ingest a large amount of a vampire's blood, you start having sex dreams about them. That's hot. And trashy. Hoshy.

Because... come on. In an episode filled with nudity and homoeroticism, nothing tops Sam's hilariously over-the-top porno dream about Bill. It's written and acted just perfectly, like a terrible skin flick called Cabin Boys or something, and because Sam Trammell and Stephen Moyer are so committed to playing the moment seriously, the cheeky writing is underscored with honest-to-god sexual intensity. And when the fellas lean in for an almost-kiss? Their mouths just centimeters away from each other? And then Sam wakes up? Come on! The show knows exactly what it's doing, and I admire that audacity.

Nice link, Critical. I enjoyed that recap. And so right about the"hosh"-ness of this epsiode - excuse me, I guess that would be "hoshness" or "hoshiness"?

Yes, there are some seriously sexy men on this show. Hubba hubba.

    This makes me very happy.

Now if my cable would come back on, I could watch the premiere again like I'd planned. Stupid Time Warner.

Spoilerish photos from the set, featuring Alex, Stephen and Anna....and someone else we may not have expected to see again! My favorites - aside from the ones of Alex, of course - are the pics of Anna looking all bored while standing next to the guy in that horrible makeup.

Rapper Snoop Dogg has put out a song and video called "Oh, Snookie" It's very amusing.
I won't link to it because it does have some bad words in it, but it's easily findable if you're curious
