Re: True Blood (HBO)

That's what I enjoy most about the book and if that doesn't get carried over into the show and if the show keeps focusing on the ancillary story lines from the books and everything but the character evolution I'm really going to lose interest in the show quickly. With the heavy focus on Maryanne or on the fellowship or even Lorena I have trouble really committing to the show.

Re: True Blood (HBO)

I have never read the books, so I have nothing to compare the storyline with. However, I LOVE the show. I also really like Bill and Sookie together. Their real life love affair makes it more realistic that these two people are in love. Eric is cute, but I personally would not like him with Sookie (guess that's coming though). Hope Jason isn't dead. He brings that good ol' bad boy element and he's not hard to look at (clothed or unclothed). Maryann - don't like the character but the actress is terrific and it is an interesting storyline. Poor Sam - a very likeable character and I think he is my favorite along with Tara (the smartest person in town). The two young lovebirds are adorable and have really good chemistry. Do not like Lorena coming back to bug Bill. She is a despicable character and it is hard to feel a drop of sympathy. My favorite show on TV and I love the intro too.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer Are Engaged!

By Stephen M. Silverman

It's true love for True Blood couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. The two are engaged to be married, reps for both actors on the HBO vampire series confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.

No further details were available.

Paquin, who plays telepathic Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood, is originally from New Zealand and won a 1994 Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as the precocious child in The Piano.

Moyer, from Essex, England, plays bloodsucking Bill Compton on the series. He also has two children from previous relationships: a son, Billy, born in 2000, and a daughter, Lilac, born in 2002.

Last month, Paquin, 27, said of her nude love scenes with Moyer, 39: "Obviously, if you're already with that person then you're not having to sort of get over the 'Wow, I'm naked with someone that I don't even know the middle name of!'"

For his part, Moyer has said of his lady love, "My girl is hardcore."

Sorry for the double post. I just didn't want to have a giant post with this reply and the article posted above.

If you read the books, aname, you may change your mind about Bill and Sookie. I know that I became very pro Eric and Sookie once I read the books.

Re: Jason: you must have missed the preview for this week's episode at the end of last week's because [[Jason wasn't shot with a real gun - it was just a paint gun]]

ETA: I'm generally okay with most of the changes Alan Ball has made to the story, but I HATE that Eric is the one responsible for bringing Lorena to Dallas. It takes the blame away from Bill and makes Eric look more manipulative than actually he really is.

Re: True Blood (HBO)

Even if I didn't read the books I would lose interest really fast in this show if it was just the same Bill/Sookie stuff show after show without any growth as a character. The books are only interesting because she grows as a character. Without that growth it would be a really uninteresting read as well.

Congrats to Stephen and Anna. She is originally from Canada though and then moved to New Zealand as a girl. So there.

Could you remind me which book (title) this was in...I have read them all (and Lily too)!
______

Would anyone mind giving me a synopsis of everything that happened on the last episode? We are on vacation and I missed the show!

Thanks!

Dead As A Doornail. (book 5) They first meet up with Sookie at Merlotte's, then they interview/question her at her home.

I PM'd you the HBO link for synopsis. The one thing I noticed they left out is that when Barry relays the message to Lorena and Bill that Sookie is trapped in the basement at FoTS; Eric overhears the message as well. You know those vamps and their super hearing So, Eric is aware of Sookie's predicament even if Bill can't escape Lorena to save her.

Also, when Jason was shot by Sara - we saw in the previews for this Sunday, that she used a paint ball gun, so Jason is still alive.

Speaking of the previews shown: What I am trying to figure out is why Eric would offer himself in exchange for Godric's release (as shown in the preview) without talking to Godric first? I don't get that. He would want to see Godric and make certain he is still alive before offering himself up ...No?

Well, I guess we find out soon. Is it Sunday yet????
