| Re: True Blood (HBO) Yes Twiddler. Although I didn't recognize him at first because he looks so different without [[the hair rag he always wears and the makeup!]]

| Re: True Blood (HBO) Sorry for the double post. In the previews it shows [[Eric has shorter hair than before. I thought once you were turned you looked exactly as you did forever. I didn't think they could change their appearance other than clothing. ]]

And yes, there isn't too much different about the actual characters, subtle differences but man the plot is going a completely different way right from the first episode this season. A part of me wants to throw something at the tv and refuse to watch but the other part of me is saying if Charlaine Harris is okay with the changes then I guess I will be too. Sigh. | |

| Re: True Blood (HBO) I never got through book one so I wonder if they changed some of the things to make it more interesting to viewers? It's the only thing I can think of as to why they changed so much.

| Re: True Blood (HBO) I read an interview that said they plan for True Blood to be around long enough that it will start to be hard to hide the fact that the vampires (actors) are aging. heh I love this show and how the vampires are subtly humanized. One of my favorite lines of the night was Bill's "we recycle" line. lol |

| Re: True Blood (HBO) I am not sure. I honestly think that viewers would watch if it were the same too. I think book fans would love to see their favorite moments brought to the screen and there is enough action for new viewers to enjoy it too. I think that was obvious from season 1. The majority of season 1 came straight from the book and there were plenty of fans, old and new, who enjoyed the show. I do think that the writers didn't want all the spoilers to come out if they went by the book and that's why they changed it. However, I may be in the minority but I am very disappointed in the fact that the storylines are completely different and as of the first episode, the one storyline relatively similar to the one in the book is the maenad and that has been so changed that it is hardly recognizable as the same story. I am okay with differences being made, but prefer them to be made slowly and I consider the changes they have made to all the storylines (and the relationships between the characters) to be very abrupt and not all that smooth. |

| Re: True Blood (HBO) I liked season 1 for what it was when I watched it on DVD. I had some issues with how they changed it from the book but dealt with it understanding that it's not always possible to go from book to TV as is. The Eric from the show, although nice to look at, was not the Eric I had envisioned when reading the book. I wasn't a big fan of the new vampire etc. I read the books first before ever seeing the show. So I'm probably biased toward the book. However, it will be interesting to read on here if season 2 is something I should invest in when the time comes. |

| Re: True Blood (HBO) In the book I think Eric sounds like he looks more like Brad Pitt's character in Interview with a Vampire. Long beautiful curly hair.
