We're still gonna watch it here. The books got so bad, I figure any direction the show goes can't be worse. And I miss Alcide.

Plenty of Alcide to gawk at last night. Sigh.

Ahem. About the show - not too bad! I don't care for the obsessed Jason storyline - didn't we already do this once with the Newlins? - but Andy's "litter" cracked me up. At that rate they'll be out of high school in a couple weeks. I even had a glimmer of hope that we'd have Eric and Sookie finally get together (yes, I'm stubborn), but who knows where that's going...

Then we have Billith, who can go away and become a minor character like he was in the later books for all I care.

I enjoyed the show much more than expected. For one, they didn't introduce a bevy of new characters. For another, they used the classic comic relief character (Arlene, Andy, Lafayette) as grace notes, not as plot drivers. As for the Rutger Hauer character, I'm actually interested in where he's going. Hopefully he'll take a bigger part and Bill will go into the background.

My only beef is that a Louisiana governor would never say Louisianians prefer Lipton for their sweet tea. It Luzianne or Community.

I thought it was not too bad of an episode. But c'mon writers, Joe Manganiello can do more than grunt and look phenomenal. Give him a storyline along with Robert Patrick.

I don't think I want Bill to go away now - I'm curious to see what will happen with Jessica. That might get interesting. I would be ok with Eric's sister taking a stake. Sam's g/f is an early casualty but IMO they had terrible chemistry - the little girl is more interesting. Assuming Sam will be part of a were storyline this season.

WTF was the green stuff the cops shot Tara with? Some kind of vamp taser? I assume she's not dead.

Why are they making Alcide a jerk? I didn't like his character last night. Nor do I like the people following Sam around, taking pictures.

Andy and the baby faeries were cute, though. And I was laughing at Lilith and her no-underwear-wearing blood covered gang. Those girls need a razor.

So far it's okay. It's better than I thought because last season sucked. I also want to know what the Billith character is now going to do. He can see the future, hmmmm.

Well, the reviews in the TV Guide have basically jeered this season of True Blood and last seasons. The show has definitely jumped the shark.

What?? I like this season so far. I don't care about the books any longer (though I would have like to have seen Quinn). At my house we are getting a kick out of the fairy quads (I hope they're not dead ). Also looking forward to seeing how the Eric/Willa thing pans out, and I'm enjoying Jessica's desperate attempts to "help" Bill. I didn't think I would like a TB that didn't feature my favourites (Alcide, Pam) but as it turns out, I'm entertained. Also, I would be willing to count Jason's pullups any old time.
