ah, so you missed out on the fake Kennedys (called the Harringtons) who live in ritzy Miami and throw wild parties where women get raped by politicians' low life nephews and murders get covered up. I started laughing when they said that the main Harrington had been involved in the death of a young woman in his car 15 years ago, I'm thinking OMG, be a little more original, and why does Emily Procter need to call them "America's Royalty" did she think we wouldn't be able to figure out they were supposed to be Kennedys?

Overall though it was tollerable, and given how much I hate Crossing Jordan we'll keep watching it when we're not watching the football game on Monday nights. Mr. LG loves to watch ANYTHING broadcast in High Definition Digital, which both CSIs and a lot of other CBS shows (but not reality shows) are broadcast in.

Usually (since yesterday...) posting at Survivor, but finding my way to other places.
I just love the original CSI, but why do they send the new one at the same time as Crossing Jordan?? Anyway, from what I've read here I won't bother trying to tape it (still haven't figured out how to do it - and I've only had my VCR for a year : ).

Ditto here. I like the original CSI, but I haven't warmed up to the Miami one, but I still try to watch it. I sometimes forget when it comes on, and I miss it.

One of the reasons I don't like the Miami version as much is because of the characters. They all seem to dislike one another, or there's just no chemistry. Most of them are rather non-descript, except for maybe Caruso (spelling?) and the coroner who talks to the corpses.

The Caruso guy comes across as being arrogant, in my view.

As for the lady coroner who talks to the dead folks. I think we, the audience, are supposed to find that interesting, quirky, or it's supposed to make her character stand out, but I'm just unmoved by it.

The Miami show also seems to be kind of boring, though I'm not sure why. I wouldn't say that CSI Miami blows chunks, but it's not as good as the original CSI, IMHO.

Grommit I agree with you when you say the characters seem to dislike eachother.

I haven't seen CSI Miami since before the Holidays. I still shake my head in bewilderment when the commercial comes on telling us that CSI Miami is the most watched new show

It is nowhere near the caliber of the original.

I've never seen a full episode of CSI Miami, but I never miss an episode of CSI.

One reason is the time slot - I usually don't watch 10pm shows. But if it didn't suck, I'd be taping it, and I'm not.

The entire cast is a bad choice - the casting associates should be fired. No chemistry whatsoever.

now now, Ilikai is rather fond of Emily Procter in her hot chick who digs guns role

We watch it all the time. It's not as good as the original, but if I can suppress the urge to smack Caruso upside his smug head I enjoy watching Speed and the other guy, and Khandi Alexander isn't as annoying as she was in the pilot.
