    Re: Big Bang Theory

Had time this morning in between things that needed to get done at a certain hour and was determined to find SOMETHING to watch that wasn't dvr'd. It was a chore! But, I hit upon a episode of MacGyver (Hearts of Steel) from 1990 starring Mayim Bialik. I was entertained for the 10 minutes I had, if only by the clothes and hairstyles!

That's somewhere I never thought this show would be with me.
It was very disappointing...but then I really wasn't expecting much I guess. I think they've changed the dynamic too much from when it was just the guys and Penny. I don't really like them bringing Stuart into it in any more than a supporting role. I just don't think Raj and Stuart will work as well and Raj and Howard. That's just my opinion and coming from someone who didn't discover the show until very recently (in syndication). It's still far superior to a lot of the drek that passes for entertainment these days.

For that matter, grown men with PhDs in physics would probably not be behaving like high school nerds either.

Yes they would. I'm dating one - he has his moments and I suspect if he were in the university environment that these guys are in - he would act almost just like them.

The couple people I knew with doctorates in physics totally acted like highschool nerds given the chance. I find it funny now watching the show because we'd all go to the comic book shop together too and it was as nerd fest in real life as it is on the show.

I also like the poking and prodding about degrees like Walowitz only getting his masters because that totally happens to me too. I "only" got my masters as well and get teased about that regularly. And then who got what degree is up for teasing too. I think it's a pretty fair portrayal of academia as well in that respect. Catty and with their little hierarchy.

My boyfriend always laughs when they do that to Howard because it's so true!

I'm not liking them trying make Stuart a main character. Wonder what they are going to do with Penny and Leonard

I like Stuart, but I think he is just replacement Howard for now. AS for Penny and Leonard, I like them as a couple and I really thought she loved him, now I don't know. Maybe they just need to keep them apart for the sake of the show... too many couples.

They're this show's Ross and Rachel.
