    Re: Private Practice

I felt like Sam was about to tell Addison that he wanted to give her sperm as well.......but then he didn't. He merely picked a donor and said that would be the right choice. BB seems to want Addy for himself, telling Sam he was in it half way, etc. I wonder if he will be the one to turn to when she does get pregnant and Sam decides he doesn't want to deal with it.

I think we will see Amelia's downfall for a couple of episodes which will overshadow Addison's pregnancy or lack there of.
    Yup, with donuts!!

If Sam donated sperm, I would be surprised. What was wrong with the young man who was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago who was mentally unstable? Was it autism or schiziphrenia. Sam told the mother of this young man that he had a sister with the same condition. What was it?

I have always thought schiziphrenia runs in familes. Many with this condition have aunts and uncles who have it too. Wouldn't they flag you on medical history if you have a sister with it and were donating sperm. Just curious. I must have missed the first part of when they spoke of the young man's illness.

They only know the medical history you give them. They screen for infectious diseases but then after that it's kind of hit and miss trust based industry. Lots and lots of people like when they go to the sperm bank about their social histories and their psychological histories and jobs because sperm is a good way for the average guy to make a quick buck. You're not necessarily getting what you think you are when you look in the book. Lots of down on their lucks folks do it and lots of narcissists do it. I would be much more worried about narcissistic traits being passed on.

Also family member's medical histories are not factored in. In my general medical record there is absolutely no mention of a second cousin who was schizophrenic or my half sister who is borderline. It's not relevant to my medical treatment or my medical history.

While there may be a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia no one can with any certainty that the child of someone who has someone in their family with that issue will be born with that issue. Most families have mental health issues in them somewhere. They would have no sperm if they excluded people based on that.

I kind of hope that Addison isn't pregnant; but, I have a feeling that she will be.

I was trying to figure out if the guy was really serious or not. Many people who are long time drug users, will say anything to keep their drug supply. I wondered if he was telling Amelia things he wanted her to hear to keep her with him. It's hard to say. He seemed to be sincere. As soon as they decided to use ONE more time, I knew then that one of them was going to die.

You would think that with all those doctors, they could have come up with an ADDICTION specialist to help with the intervention. The woman that had was nice, but not qualified to handle an medical doctor in that situation.

When high level, professionals have a severe addiction, it is well known that you need HIGH level doctors and addiction specialist to be involved. I think the writters dropped the ball on this one, but I guess it served their storyline.

I really wonder why Derick was not there. Did he even call?

Was this the last episode for the season?

I have heard some rumors about the show. It was not good. I'm going to try to determine how reliable the news is, before I even post in spoilers. I wish I had never heard it. If it's true. I don't think I'll keep watching the show.

I do too, but she had a smile on her face at the end. I personally don't want to watch that story line. There is no way that relationship with her and Sam will last.

Also, I find it hard to believe that Amelia was so in love with a guy that she knew for waht, 12 days.

While it's difficult to believe that someone can fall in love that fast, drug addicts fall into relationships VERY fast and will not listen to reason. If you both are sober, then love at first sight makes more sense.

I have personally seen it happen with a friend of mine who has addiction issues.......TWICE!!!!!!!!!
The first time she met the guy in a coffee shop. They struck up a conversation and then when back to her house and he moved in his few clothes that night. He lived there for about 9 months before he had sold most all of her property, wrecked her car, maxed her credit cards and worse stuff. (Both were doing heavy drugs.) She finally escaped from him.

About a year later, she met a guy one night and went to his house. She spent the weekend and by Monday, had quit a very good job and moved in with him. They wed within 30 days!!!!!!!!! (Both were doing heavy drugs.) Then she escaped from him.)

Thank God the girl got away with her life and is clean and sober today, however, I would not be surprised if something like that happened to her again.

    Re: Private Practice

Wow, that 2 hour episode was really depressing. I actually thought Amelia was going to OD and then she would be forced into recovery but I guess it's kind of good that they got rid of the boyfriend. He seemed sincere but who knows? Addison seems to finally be coming to her senses about Sam. No way in heck is that relationship going to work if she has a baby. The guy has told her flat out that he doesn't want any more children, whether they are his biologically or not, so why is she sticking around? The Violet/Pete story line was so sad to me. The pre- author/book tour Violet didn't bother me so much... in fact I liked her close relationship with Cooper. But then she got so annoying. I don't understand why their relationship broke down to such an extent that Pete doesn't love her any more. I know he was beyond angry that she went on the book tour and of course his heart attack made him frightened and he had to reevaluate some things some more.. but honestly, do people fall out of love that quickly? I really thought they were going to make it.

I liked that Charlotte is coming around to Coop's son, Mason, and that Mason's mom seems nicer towards Charlotte. Mason being angry at his dad for not making his play showed how much Cooper means to him and how far they've come in their relationship. Coop explained to him how he can't always be there for him b/c some times really sick kids need for him to help them which Mason seemed to thoughtfully process. I liked how Mason was so kind to the sick boy at the hospital... maybe he inherited the empathy gene from his dad as well.
