I am not a fan of Taye Diggs. Something about him just gets on my nerves. He could disappear, and I wouldn't lose one wink of sleep.

What is up with everyone butting into everyone else's business??
Addison basically forcing that woman to tell her husband that she had an abortion 5 years ago. That was going to help the current situation how? I know the show had it all work out but really..... Not saying that the wife shouldn't have told her husband but didn't see where it was Addison's business to get her to tell him right then and there. It should have been the wife's choice to tell him on her own - encouraging someone is one thing but thought Addison stepped over the line.
The argument between Voilet and Sheldon over the critic - I was on Sheldon's side. Glad Voilet finally came around in the end but it was a stupid fight to start with.
Voilet visiting her attacker - that woman needs a therapist.

I missed last night, but will watch later. I have a big issue with them crossing the line on doctor/patient confidentiality all the time. It's as if they don't even think about it.

Until I really got into a profession where ethical boundaries and confidentiality matter so much, I never really thought about how PP consistently crosses them (more so than on Grey's). I understand it's just a show, but it bothers me that there are never serious consequences or long-term effects as a result of crossing the line.

Maybe that's why it's such a big thing with me. I work in a field where it is mandatory. I don't even acknowledge clients when I see them at the grocery store, unless they speak first. Even then if someone with me asks who is that, I just say nevermind. I can't say who they are. You don't cross the line with those things. Oh well, PP is just a show of fiction. LOL

I know what you mean---I had similar restrictions as part of my job....you can't be "outing" people like that! Grrr, why would anyone trust their doctor again and tell them the truth after watching a show like this one.
The only "consequence" they've shown is the result of Violet's book!

    Re: Private Practice

I watched the latest episode this weekend. I find it difficult to believe the writing regarding the actions of Addison and Violet. What is wrong with their brain? If I were Violet's husband, I think I might try to have her committed. To insist on going to see the woman who attacked her when there is a restaining order in place? CRAZY!!!!!!!! Not only would the attorneys who are hired by her malpractice carrier have a cow, but the D.A.'s office would too. Since she is showing she is not afraid of this woman, then it would give her grounds to move to have the order lifted. And anything she said to the woman could have severe legal consequences in the legal action, even though Violent seems to know it all, she doesn't know jack about legal issues.

In light of the dangers the doctors have been subjected to, don't you think their office would have put some kind of security measures so that just anyone can't stroll right into your office, especially after hours.

Addison pressuring that patient to tell her husband about the abortion was not only unwise, but dangerous. She doesn't know the husband's mental history. He could have gone nuts or hurt his wife. All of that was so intentionally mean IMO that I don't think I can stand to watch Addison again. Although, I did agree with the speech she gave her boyfriend at the end about her alarm clock for a baby going off. That was so true.

I wonder if the writers think their insult about southerners will help their ratings. I find it bizarre they think it funny to imply that not many southerners have their teeth. This was joked about when they were trying to match up one of the doctors with a date for the upcoming wedding. They said that the bride could hook him up with one of her southern friends and she just might have teeth. How original.

I just watched last weeks episode and I honestly cannot even understand Violet and Addison. Where does Addison get off pushing her patient into telling her husband about the abortion?? While I get that there should be no secrets between husband and wife...that is NOT Addison's job to make sure of it!!!

And Violet Why in her right mind would she go and see the person that cut out her baby?? Let the courts and lawyers handle it!!! You cannot fix everyone all the time
I can only please one person a day, today is not your day and tomorrow doesn't look good either

Last night's episode had me so irritated with Addison. When she was talking about doing what's best for the practice/patients I thought she was a pot! (Calling the kettle black ) She certainly doesn't practice what she preaches!

No idea why I watch this show! I HATE Violet, Cooper, Addison (on PP), but especially Violet. I like Sheldon and Charlotte. I think Taye is cute and I adore his IRL wife, so he gets a pass. But the hypocrisy and moral superiority that spews from this show is nauseating.
