Re: Private Practice

Hi, missed the first epi last week, saw last nights epi and loved it! Did they get rid of Sam and Naomi's daughter? They had a kid in the pilot, was she written out or has there been no mention of her?

Re: Private Practice

I don't remember them having a child (Sam and Naomi) and no mention was made of her.

Re: Private Practice

I thought they had a child, too (Sam and Naomi). I thought in the pilot Addison was talking about how Naomi had done it right by having a child early on (this is when Addison learned she couldn't have children).

Re: Private Practice

Man, for some reason I'm remembering that conversation differently. I could have sworn she told her they did it right by never having a child or ever wanting one but that doesn't make sense given the situation they were in when they were talking. So there must have been a child.

So what happened to it? Did they just decide to pretend like it never happened when they recast Naomi?

There was definitely a daughter in the pilot. That's when Addison learned she couldn't have children and told Naomi that she did the right thing by having her child early

Re: Private Practice

She does have children, or at least a child. Remember in the opening recap where Addison was talking about Naomi and then it flashes to a scene of Naomi eating cake in the bathroom crying "Mommy needs a few minutes alone". So there's definitely kids. It's just weird they never mention them/the child at all.

Re: Private Practice

I really hope the therapist gets over her ex soon. I get the writer's irony that the therapist makes a living giving advice all the while her own life is a mess but she comes across as too needy, almost pathetic. I still don't care for the new Naomi too much but she'll probably grow on me. I'm liking the show enough to keep watching while the characters are fleshed out a little more.

Re: Private Practice

I'd always heard that the most messed up people become therapists/psychologists. I don't mean this disparagingly ... but people who've experienced rough times are drawn to the field, and then help others. I know three people who are therapists and/or psychiatrists and that is the case with them.
