That's funny. I grew up in the 60's but I never heard that before.

I do know that many of the events they portray are accurate such as that plane crash that effected one of the airlines they were representing. Also, that very rich guy who Don met at the country club and ended up bringing in as client, was a real person. I can't recall his name. I think they are pretty good with those details.

Who's your favorite character? I LOVE Don, but also like Peggy.

I absolutely LOVE Don Draper but am not a fan of Jon Hamm. For some reason I have not cared for anything else I've seen him in and that includes being "himself" on Saturday Night Live.

Marlena, I know Jon Hamm and you're hurting my feelings! That's ok, though, because I have the converse problem. I think Jon is pretty cool but am actually more than a little freaked out by Don Draper and have trouble watching Mad Men because of that. The character is definitely nothing like Jon but I think that's a testament to his acting ability.

And I popped by this thread to recommend a film of his that was released on DVD recently, Stolen, in case any Mad Men fans might be interested. Josh Lucas was Jon's co-star and it's a thriller/mystery film. No obligation to check it out. Just wanted to mention it.

Awwww i'm sorry chrisg I think it's just because I love Don Draper SO MUCH that seeing "him" be someone else (and NOT my Don Draper) doesn't work for me. Jon Hamm is one GOOOOOOOD looking guy though!!!!!!!
