The creator of Emmy-winning television series "ER" and the hit movie "Jurassic Park", Michael Crichton, was tied up and robbed at his house near Los Angeles, police said today.
Two armed men entered Crichton's Santa Monica residence before dawn, tying up the author and an unidentified companion before they ransacked the house and fled, said Frank Fabrega, spokesman for the Santa Monica police.
The 59-year-old author of a number of best-selling books was not injured.
The two-metre-plus Harvard graduate was sued for divorce by his wife of 13 years earlier this month.
