What can you say when the funniest thing of the night was Al Gore.

It was Wes Anderson. On that commercial we just saw.

I actually believe that Amex commercial with him is an older one, but they don't play it that often.

Damn, why doesn't he make more movies?

I've seen O'Toole several times recently enough though I'm unsure why. The last time he appeared substantially more vibrant(?) than he did in the earlier sightings where I wasn't able to focus on what he was saying too much due to how drawn I was to how frail he appeared.

I liked the duo then trio number involving Helen Mirren as their collective person of desire.

The tableaux approach to the costume design award actually kind of worked.

Predictably, in many ways, the period piece wins. People love them Frenchies dressed up like that.

Nice tux, French costume design lady! I'm actually not kidding. It was cool.

Ew. Cruise. Do we have something like holding fingers up in the form of cross to do to the T.V. for a crazy crazy Scientologist instead of a Devil?

This is what Ellen should wear for an Oscar.

There's already an Oscar discussion thread under movies. Maybe the mod's can merge them?

Wasn't that for the nominations, not the show?

    That was my understanding.

LOVE Sherri Lansing's dress! One of the best of the night. Plus, Tom Cruise actually looks great. It's as if he's channeling himself from ten years ago.

Ellen going into the audience is just painful. What's also painful is the realization that NO ONE will ever be a better Oscar host than Johnny Carson

This thread is fine where it's at for the time being.
