The Black Donnellys follows the exploits of four young, working-class Irish brothers. Their involvement in organized crime in New York City will put their life at risk and they will do anything to protect each other from the hostility between them and the others New York families who want their territory.

I wasn't impressed with the previews. I'll go out on a limb and say this series won't make it to a second season.

Just so no one misses it, if they're planning on watching. Its premiere has been bumped up.

BURBANK - February 13, 2007 - NBC's new mid-season drama "The Black Donnellys" will premiere on Monday, February 26 (10-11 p.m. ET) -- following the hit drama "Heroes" (9-10 p.m. ET), it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment.

The Godfather did "the good son forced to go bad" first. And far far far better.

    I was totally bored.

I wasn't impressed by the previews, but something about the more recent previews got me to watch. I actually ended up interested in the story. Maybe it is because my expectations were low going in....but I'll at least be giving this one a chance.

Yeah, me too. It was a bit trite, yes, and the scenes between Tommy and that chick who's husband is dead were pretty bad, but otherwise it was an arresting, very well shot, gritty pulp show. I'm interested to so where it goes.

I was also impressed with the first episode. I think it has a lot of potential and as long as they can get away with being a mobster show without showing all the ‘good’ stuff it will work.

So is this supposed to be a Monday's show?
I caught 3/4 of it in bed last night... *thursday* and I'm not sure what I was watching. (episode wise) was it a repeat of episiode 1?

Never mind. A little click upthread got me my answer

Not a bad show, although unfortunately it has stereotyped each brother into the first 15 minutes. It has potential to go somewhere if the writers can keep the family drama going and litlle less on the violence.
