| Golden Globes Best supporting actress award right out of the gate. J Hud shoots, and she scores.

| Okay, perhaps the rest of the show is irrelevant now? ![]() Best Original song - Beyonce, with her 4th credit which won't win her an Oscar no matter what, is denied her chance on an award here, and loses to HAPPY FEET. Heh. Prince apparently wrote the annoying song and didn't even bother to show up. Justin Timber-fake just stood there like an idiot waiting for his Royal Highness. Maybe little moments like that can squeeze some small enjoyment out of the rest of this (heck, I'd be watching "24" now like everyone else, but I was out last night and haven't yet watched the recording of the FIRST two episodes).

| Insta-prediction: That "Heroes" commercial makes me think about that show and become pretty sure it will win in its category. Wow, Sometimes it really becomes obvious how SHORT Eva Longoria is. Putting her next to a really tall guy rubs that in. Best supporting TV actor - Jeremy Irons steals it from Hiro! The two of them shouldn't even BE in the same category, but the way they group miniseries and other stuff together is bizarre. Funny to see Irons diss Hollywood though. Best actress, TV drama - Kira Sedgewick wins, which is no big surprise. She has that basic cable "glow". ![]()

| Man, Naomi Watts has bad teeth. Never really noticed before. Question: does anyone outside of Hollywood care about "Babel"? Puffy alert! Or "Diddy". Or whoever he is this decade. The cast of "Heroes" is up next. Doesn't NBC realize how annoying it is to put an entire show cast up on a stage to present an award? Hugh Laurie wins for Best Actor, TV drama. No big surprise. He played it extra-bastardly this past year. Actually, come to think of it, shouldn't we be more shocked that Kiefer lost? McDreamy didn't really have a chance, but people probably assume Kiefer does.
