I am dying without Dex. Do we have to wait until Fall for the next Season?! :(
So far I haven't seen anything indicating when the new season starts. Last season ended way too soon. :(Quote:

I read an average of 2 books a week and when I found out about the books I was super excited and thought maybe they could ease my between-season depression. lol. so i got the books a few months ago. I thought they were actually really bad. Report back about what you thought about them.
Well, I finished the books about a month ago but have been to busy to report. Sorry.
I actually enjoyed the first two. Pretty easy reading, granted, but I enjoyed being in Dexter's head again. The TV show obviously pulled some of its story lines from the books, but they weren't exactly the same. Many of the same characters, but they weren't exactly as they are on the series. Usually when I read a book and then see it on film, I'm disappointed in the film. The differences here weren't enough to detract from my enjoyment of the show. I was a little worried about that.
I also read "Dexter in the Dark". Big departure from the first two. I'm still processing that one and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Has anybody else read it?
Well, time to dredge this thread up. The new season starts on September 27. I can hardly wait!
I just ordered the new book in the series - "Dexter By Design". Should have it in a few days. I'll report back after I've read it.
I preordered my copy of Dexter by Design and am waiting anxiously for it as well. :yay I'm hoping one of my satellite channels is going to carry the new season, but so far I haven't seen any previews for it. I read that the new book takes place after Dex & Rita's wedding and is at least partly set during their honeymoon in Paris, and I'm curious if the show is going to head in that direction as well. At this point the show is loosely based at best on the novels.
I just finished watching last season on DVD, and I have to say that I enjoyed Jimmy Smits on the show much more than I had expected. It was kinda cool to see him play crazy for once. :lol
I just finished rewatching season 1 and will be rewatching seasons 2 and 3 next. Watching Doakes in season 1 is freaking hilarious. Its the way he talks, or what he's saying I guess, that I find very funny. Especially when he's talking to Dexter. I totally thought the Ice truck killer was hot, don't know the name of the actor.
I'm a few chapters into the book and so far, only the beginning takes place in Paris. Don't know if there will be more in Paris or not. It'll be interesting to see where the season takes us.Quote:
