Centuries of music teaching might have something to do with it. Could it be that the word origins are from a mix of sources, like Spanish or Italian as well?

On topic, EW released a nice interview with Gilles today: Link

Looks like more episodes with him are coming! Also, it looks like
they aren't going to have Kitty get better so quickly, the way he describes next week's episode...also because the episode is called "The Wig Party" which I can assume alludes to Kitty's hair loss from chemo.

I am going to have to stop watvching for a while. Last night's show was just toooo heavy! My family has been through that kind of situation and it's being done in such a "downer" way that I can't stand to watch.

I just want to see Gilles from now on.

In that entire episode the only lighthearted moment was the motorcycle ride--and even that was all about cancer. I say enough is enough. (for me anyway.)

WD--sorry to hear you are dealing with cancer in your family. Did you notice though...oddly in this post you sound like Nora...---cancer at home, cancer at her charity work.... but she gets a hunky motorcycle rider and you get cancer on a favorite TV show--not fair! Hope things improve in real life.

    Re: Brothers and Sisters

PWS--hi. thanks for your thoughts. Our family situation is in the past.

The episode brought it all back though.

I know that my tastes might be different from other people's--that happens all the time.

I just am seeing that this show has been concentrating on only negative events. The last really lighthearted event we had was the first Gilles episode.

    For me that's not enough.

I know that it doesn't necessarily bother other people. I personally prefer not to continually visit negative events to the exclusions of more positive ones.

And personally I admire Kitty for wanting to take charge of her treatment and to try some different hings. The family's reaction to her NOT wanting more chemo was all too true-to-life. and very sad.

As I said--these are my opinions and reactions only--I don't expect anyone else to agree with me.

I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness about my family's experience.

Hi WD.... I understand your feelings completely. We've talked about all the negativity here, I guess a few pages back, and I do agree with you. This show has been such a downer lately. Wish I had the strength to stop watching, but I keep expecting it to get better - after all there are 2 babies and a wedding coming now, right?! Well, this show has miraculously found a way to make even these joyous events negative.

Thats what I was thinking of... to be honest, I've never heard it
pronouced any other way except "for-tay"... but I was a big

Couldn't they have had more of Gilles last night? Why couldn't he have escorted Sarah to the charity event? Did they not want him to show up the actor playing Nora's admirer? I say the only thing better than one hunk is two! Seriously, I wonder why so little of Gilles in this episode?

I agree that there should have been more of Gilles in this episode... first they hide him in the bedroom during the Walker dinner,
then Sarah doesn't let him escort her to the charity event? Although I'll keep watching.... this show has gotten a little bit
depressing lately!! Need something happy to offset all this drama!!!

I'm good. I'm willing to go where ever this show leads me.
