The preview makes the show look promising. I will watch the first few episodes.

I'm definitely going to check this one out. The premise is very intriguing. My movie theatre has been showing a featurette on this show as a pre-trailer thing. Plus, Milo Ventimiglia is in it...I do love him.

Only problem is that the show "Vanished" shares the timeslot. Luckily, "Vanished" starts next week, so I can decide if I want to stick with it or not.

Ha, yeah you're right about that. I still want to check this show out, but I was not digging the stereotypical-Asian "Long Duk Dong" vibe I got from the commercial I saw with the Asian actor. I hope my assumption is off-base, but that's just the feeling I got.

While I suppose this actor is filling the same kind of slot Gedde Watanabe once would have years ago, it's more like the character Watanabee played in "Gung Ho" than the one he played in "Sixteen Candles". And even that comparison might be a bit unfair, since this new guy's performance is a lot less goofy. He plays the guy as very exuberant, but there's no sign that he's supposed to be a fool. He's actually a kind of character you see in frequently in Japanese Anime--the dreamer who resents the conformity that's the Japanese norm. That's a much bigger part of his character than any "Long Duk Dong" stuff.

Me too. And Adrian Pasdar is in it also, so I'm really hoping this show will have some staying power. (I'm so shallow! )

I agree with Krom's take on the Asian character. We're looking forward to this show at my house, too. If it's as good as it seems, I may decide to bag watching the new season of 24. I found myself poking fun of it more and more last season, which kind of detracts from the dramatic moments .

Its not up against "24" right off though. First up is that "Vanished" show. Which, to me at least, is sounding more and more formulaic the more I hear about it.

Not that "Heroes" is completely original. It has been pointed out to me recently that "The 4400" covers at least a little of the same ground.

Exactly. If "Heroes" is a new favorite show and (most probably) isn't in reruns when "24" starts up, I'll likely 86 "24".

I'm not giving up 24 for any show so most likely I'll tape one and watch the other. I have 2 vcr's plus my computer can record so I think I'm covered!

I gotta have a "no recording" policy in my life. Between TV, movie rentals, books and the FORT, if I recorded all the shows I'd like to see I'd never leave the house!
