Re: Miss USA and Miss Universe

Okay, so I was obviously rooting for California when the competiton started, but after she was gone (), I rooted for Oklahoma and Tennessee. Then when TN got eliminated, I was totally gunning for OK. And let me tell you, I was pretty shocked when she got only 3rd runner up. I think she should have been higher up, especially after dominating the competition.

I grew to like both Texas and Mississippi. I wanted other girls to win more than them, but I still grew to like them. When I first initially saw them (and this might sound mean, but everyone judges the girls' looks in a beauty paegant ), I thought there were definitely a lot more pretty girls out there, if you know what I mean. But after seeing them a lot more on my screen, I eventually saw how beautiful they are. And I agree with people that posted before, Texas gave a knockout answer. She sealed it with that one. Even the guy who gave the question gave a "wow, I'm really impressed" look on his face. So am I satisfied with the final 2? Yup.

Oh, and I was just reading this. Crystle (the winner) is the second black Miss Texas USA to win the title, after Chelsi Smith won it in 95. Chelsi went on to win the Miss Universe title that year, so maybe the past can show itself in the future possibly? Maybe just wishful thinking.

Isn't Rachel Smith, the just ended Miss USA also part black? I thought she was...
And I was sure Miss Oklahoma had it in the bag- she scored the highest by far in swimsuit and evening gown, and her interview was fine...I was disappointed- but Crystle is beautiful and sweet so...

It's that time again. On first look I have my favorites: Australia, Czech, Mexico, Poland, Puerto Rico, USA and Kosovo. My hubby says they can't let Kosovo win, or it will be a political scandal. She is stunning, though.

I'm surprised China didn't make the top 15 (politically), Hungay over Poland, and Dominican Republic made it over Puerto Rico for a change. Venezuela, Japan, Italy and Vietnam made on name alone (although it was hard to see Venezuela well with the stick through her nose). Still think Kosovo was a standout on the first look (has an Angelina Jolie look going on), and USA is strong, Russia, Australia and Czech are the contenders.

    Miss USA goes down again!

Must be our new tradition. She might still survive with that score though, but it's not looking good.

Colombia seems to be running away with this pageant according to the judges. Venezuela too. Judges are leaning very latin.

    Colombia
    Venezuela
    Dominican Republic
    Mexico
    Russia

Mexico gave the only coherent answer to the question asked. Russia being in there over Kosovo is a political move.

    Anyone else still watching?
