Yes, that's true, some of 'em definitely were kind of out there-- and I also thought USA could have done better than the Elvis outfit.

Hubby and I both thought Korea, Ukraine, and Japan looked best in swimsuits. Tanzania looked good too... I agree about her smile too, she has a lot of charm. Angola and Venezuela both have very pretty faces.

I loved their interests, many having to do with AIDS awareness, USA working at the Oprah Winfrey Acadamy in S. Africa, and then we get to Tanzania's -- gardening, relaxing and playing soccer. This could hurt her chances. I'm not condemning her for doing less, since this may be all that is available to her in her country. It just doesn't stack up well against these other girls.

At this point, I would pick this to come down to Brazil, Venezuela and Angola. I think Angola is the darkhorse winner of this thing -- she's stunning. Japan could still sneak in there, though.

They cleared out all the girls that I thought shouldn't be there in that last cut. I like these judges so far. How did they ever come up with the Dallas Cowboy's Quarterback and Ando from Heroes? Seems so random.

Miss India's eyebrows are freaking me out. She looks like Spock's sister. :cyclops

Would be great if Angola beat out Venezuela at the end. Venezuela is always a top finisher and has an unfair advantage coming from a country where the national pastimes are beauty and plastic surgery.

Very interesting and intelligent women in the mix, that is for sure. :nod

USA took an embarassing fall on the evening gown competition! :eek Recovered pretty well though, and still got an 8.754 I think. Thought Brazil looked great in her dress, and so did Korea though her dress certainly wasn't traditional.

WOW! I had looked away for a second at my computer and missed it. Nice recovery though. I had run down to the other TV and rewind the DVR to see it. Thanks! That is an all-time classic pageant moment. She went down hard.

I'm still not that impressed with Miss USA. I like her more when she doesn't smile, which doesn't win pageants.

Watching this show and fearing for them to fall has always been my worst fear!!!! I'm amazed they can walk in those heels, in those dresses and on this slippery floors...hell, I fall wearing flats! :laugh

I didn't pay attention to anyone else after she fell....

Miss Photogenic was Phillipines...she's naturally pretty!

Miss Congeniality was China

Think any of the contestants were laughing backstage when they saw/heard about Miss USA falling????

Yeah, I'm surprised more of them don't fall-- I've taken my share of falls in heels, and though embarassing, luckily without the whole world watching! :laugh
