I thought it was a pretty good premiere. A lot of things that go on have an underlying meaning, the sushi for example, the new Porsche, etc. Notice weight was an issue throughout the whole show, Tony weighing himself fearing he's getting to fat, but in the end, all of his 'cushioning' will end up saving him. I read James Gandolfini purposley gained more weight for this..

Christopher is my favorite--Ok, he's my TV Boyfriend--I love his one liners.

LOL JR!

I forgot about the product placement! I noticed Nesquick (on the toy train), Cingular (on someone's phone when it was ringing) and Porsche. Is this going to be the new super-bowl commercial? How much will companies spend to be on The Sopranos??

I second that. I think I was so ridiculously excited for the premiere, thjough, that it would have been pretty hard to live up to my expectations. However, other than the end, I found it to be a tad slow. I wasn't staring at the TV like I usually do, screaming at anyone who walks in front of the TV for two seconds.

She knows or at least suspects what really happened to Adrianna. It's like when Tony says that Big Pussy and Ralph went into witness protection. She has learned not to ask too many questions.

Exactly. It's safer and easier to pretend you don't suspect what really happened.

I wonder now if Carmela really even cares. She flaunted her new car in front of two women who both had financial trouble. Meanwhile her husband's gut-shot.

Carmela always was materialistic though and basically, kinda shallow.

I loved Adrianna it was good to see her again. I bet the show knew we'd want to see her. Is her body on the spec house lot? I bet that will come back to ... no pun ... haunt someone!

Did you catch the look on Carmella's face when the woman with the new Corvette said she owned her car outright...too funny. Carmella can flaunt her Porsche 'til the cows come home, she couldn't have that car if not for Tony, she wouldn't have anything if it wasn't for him, and she knows it...

I heard an interesting theory about this first episode. I'll put it in spoiler tags, just in case....

[[This was actually the last episode and all the rest will lead up to this one. Interesting???]]

Marybeth, that would be f****** brilliant!!! And it actually makes perfect sense. I'm going with that, as it redeems the episode in my eyes.
