All in all, great choices. I'm particularly thrilled to see that so many of the winning films deal with homosexuality and transsexuality. It's certainly a huge leap forward as far as acceptance goes

Right now I'm feeling a bit frustrated about living in a country where anything starring Vin Diesel is bound to open immediately, while you have to wait for months for the high quality films. Can't wait until February 3, where both Walk the Line and Brokeback Mountain open.

Oh, and given my undying love for Antony Hopkins, I'm thrilled about his honorary award.

I was watching the Bachelor while the Globes were on, but I did catch Sandra Oh giving her acceptance speech. She seemed to be so humbled and grateful. Made me love her even more!
And also, Steve Carrell - his speech that "his wife wrote" was hilarious.
Oscars should be interesting in the best picture and best actor/actress categories.

Why is series and movie in the same category? It seems unfair that actors that choose to do a series or a movie have to share the category. And comedy and musical in the same category? I would rather they give separate awards for these. Maybe someone knows why they're lumped together.

Aside from that, congrats to all the winners and nominees!

In the U.S. it's going to rerun on Bravo this coming Sat. at 8 pm with a pre-show starting at 7pm. I missed it too so I'll probably tape it on Sat.

I loved the Golden Globes last night. So many of the people that I was hoping would win actually won and that never happens with me.

I was most happy with Sandra Oh, Resse, Joaquin and Walk the Line winning all their awards.....oooh and Lost.

Thank you for that info, ArchieComicFan! (I used to read those as a kid too)

I will try to tape the show on Sat. Does anyone have any links to screen caps, (I've seen the fashion shots, but I mean real screen caps during the show) or clips or even the text of Steven Carrell's speech? I keep hearing how hilarious that was.

    Thanks either way.
