| Yea! Evil Ghost has made an appearance. Weird laughter wasn't what I expected, but maybe he'll come up with some other way to express his evilness! I liked last week's episode. There wasn't the usual denial from the "in mourning" character. Of course it helps that she *died* and saw the fiancee and JLH conversing. I'm liking the show, in spite of myself! |

| Not just the outfits, but her painfully obvious hair extensions. They must be clip in, because they are inconsistent in length when she styles her hair differently. And sometimes you can see where her real hair ends, (a bob, around chin length) ![]()

| As much as I miss/missed JoA, I decided, out of all fairness, to give this show a chance. Plus, I really like Aisha Tyler from C.S.I., so why not? I have to say, I really enjoy this show. I've never seen J.L.Hewitt in a thing, so she was without prejudice for me. Yeah, she has that whole "That Girl" vibe from the 60's going on but some of my best friends are Rockabilly's and if I put up with their cowboy boots and pompador's, I can put up with J.L.'s false eyelashes and flip. That aside, this show, for me, has the same touching qualities as Without a Trace. Both shows deal with the dead, both shows find peace for the dead and the living, and both shows see dead people at some point in the show. I know I'd sure like to have a Ghost Whisperer in my corner to talk to all my loved ones that I haven't seen for years. I also like the rest of the cast and the fact that Melinda isn't so close mouthed about her gift as Alison in MEDIUM. If you go around telling people about their dearly departed, word about you IS going to come out. And as I've read about this show, the man who is the Ghost Whisperer is all "outed", so ultimately Melinda's character will have to be also. I'm into the show this year; I've watched FAR WORSE, far longer (Tru Calling, anyone)?

| I wish they could write a few episodes that are lighter and more upbeat. It's so sad and weepy at the end, but I still like the stories they tell. They seem to have the cutest and appealing kids on the show who can really act. Those boys on last night's show were great. I wish the dog had gone with them, after all he was their loyal friend all those years, and heaven should contain everyone you love--even if they are not human. |

But that's okay by me; I use the shows as a cathartic device so I can feel better about my everyday life and also to let out those healing tears. Plus, the shows work as such 'cautionary tales' of ..."If you do THIS, than BEWARE the consequences!" Re: the kids: my partner and I BOTH wanted to adopt the wee boy in the Davey Crocket hat who said to Melinda...sob..."when I get to Heaven I'm telling them you're my mom." Oh, that got me right in the heart! I'm thinking that why the doggie got left behind could be a couple of reasons: 1) Doggie wasn't with the boys, on screen, when they crossed over, so perhaps with animals, you have to physically bring them along. 2) If Melinda acquires a "Ghost Dog" (not the Jim Jarmusch 'Ghost Dog' but the that's a ghost) it would be pretty cool, perhaps introducing some lighter moments. I'd like to see the dog accompany her to the antique store, lay at the foot of her bed, and perhaps help her out, in some way, with some future cases, like Lassie, only...you know, a ghost Lassie. It could be a novel twist and I like animals in TV, like Early Edition where only a couple of people could see the cat or knew of it, yet it took a nice role in the show.
