I haven't been watching this season, and I just happened to catch the show last Friday where here father was being taken over by the guy he prosecuted. Is there more of a back story on her father this season that I missed?

I have two, and the more I read about Tivo problems the better I feel! But the last one I bought also has a DVD slot, and it was pretty hard even then to find a machine that had a videotape option as well... doesn't bode well for the future...what will I do with the 100's of hours of tape I'm saving up to view when I retire?

Gah! my DVR cut off the end of the last episode. Can anyone tell me what happened after Melina and the Hotel guy heard the shot?

Nothing happened, she opened the door and then we have to wait and see. She cried so I assume he shot himself.

The thing that drove me crazy tonight was this: Melinda and her husband, Jim, go and confront her mother. Jim gives this big speech to the mother about respecting Melinda. They then leave and Melinda is sitting crying on the park bench alone. Jim is nowhere to be found and Melinda goes off with her "dad" who then proceeds to try to kill her. After she calls for the help of the ghost of her real dad, the "dad" is killed, and she's talking to her real (ghost) dad, Jim turns up. If he were so concerned as to lay into her mother on her behalf, why let her sit crying on a park bench? How did he know she was at her old family home since her "dad" too her there? WTH!?!? I just don't get it.

At the end of the show, the professor mentioned that there were 6 of them, but only 5 shadows being cast. I would not be surprised if the professor was not the odd man out, because he will be starring in a new comedy show in the fall.

I keep hoping its Jim they kill off and then the professor and Melinda live happily ever after

I'm so sick of Jim and his uselessness on the show. That or make him find a 'gift' or something!

If Melinda is so smart, why the heck didn't she know something was up when her "father" asked to take her somewhere to clear everything up and takes her to her old house? I was shaking my fist at the tv. It was pretty obvious he was going there to hurt her.
I loved the ending with her real father. It explains why her gift is so strong. Her mother, grandmother and her real father all shared the gift.

Does anyone know if Jay Mohr (The Professor) will be returning to the show at all this next season? I saw an ad for a new half hour comedy to premiere this fall where he is the lead. It looks to be another of those divorced guy fish out of water shows. I really enjoyed his performance on Ghost Whisperer and really, really hope he returns.
