Re: Ghost Whisperer

Why do I get the feeling they are planning to kill off Jim? I would rather they kill off shop girl (Camryn) or the professor even. Jim is the best part of the show and a main reason I watch. I am already disappointed in the dark direction they are heading in - and I think the premise of departed growing stronger and more evil is absurd. It looks to me as if they are heading down the same road that Joan of Arcadia took. Too bad because I loved the first season with Andrea.

Re: Ghost Whisperer

Yeah. I used to enjoy this show much more with the personal interaction with the family/friends of the departed. This whole 'gathering' thing just takes away from that initial point of the show. Ever since the airplane crash, this has been more like a VERY LONG running mini series.

and I like Jim a lot. I would rather they develop more the personal relationship of the couple (time for a baby?) and also get rid of Camryn. I miss Andrea.

Re: Ghost Whisperer

I too enjoy Jim. I hope they don't kill him off. I've had a feeling for awhile now that he was going to be killed.

I love Jay Mohr as the professor. I didn't realize his wife was dead until this episode - didn't Melinda meet her in his office once? (or am I losing it?)

I thought Delia's reaction was downright mean. I hope good triumphs over evil and they move back to the way the show used to be. I like a little happy ending show - it doesn't all have to be so dark!

I do adore Jennifer Love Hewitt. I think she's so real. Gabriel (not our FoRT gabriel )gave me the creeps and I had a feeling he was bringing the ghosts to the dark side.

I agree, and it reminds me of how they ended the series Joan of Arcadia, no wonder people stop watching with all that darkness. Give us some light, happy endings. My mom said that after WW2, all the movies produced for awhile were light hearted because that was all people wanted to watch. I kind of feel I need that nowadays.

Yeah, I liked it better when it was like "Touched by an Angel" for dead people.

I found myself wondering this morning if the show took this direction just because someone felt like it would be an interesting idea or if James Van Praugh (who is a producer, I think) is trying to say that something like this is actually happening?

I like the actor who plays jim. he's easy on the eyes and does pretty well with the ridiculous storylines they give him. but i have to say there is probably no man out there that would whole-heartedly believe that his wife was so completely in tune with EVERYTHING having to do with death, crossing over, etc. and be so accepting about it and so into it.

he's the antithesis of every "dumb background girlfriend" role they have had in major motion pictures forever.

and "Jim" sees no problem whatsover with "Melinda" driving alone at night, leaving without explanation, becoming chummy with super hot Gabriel.

Any normal person will always have an ounce or more of skepticism. or a week bit of jealousy. or anything else. but "Jim" just sits on the sidelines and does nothing and lets "Melinda" run around, doing dangerous things, becoming friends with single males who are good looking and has absolute and complete total faith in her. Not just with the everyday circumstances, but he's just this tag-along to her when it comes to the supernatural.

Since NO ONE knows what happens beyond death, yet Melinda talks about it, and the rules for it and the whys and the how-to's with utter certainty make me laugh more than anything.

it's a silly little show that is amusing. i enjoy watching it. but based at all in reality? yeah, not so much at all.

at least on Medium, her husband and co-workers always listen to what "Allison" says (or sees) but it's all so normal and real life and things happen and not everything works out perfectly in the end.

I'm with you marybethp... I definitely hope they don't kill Jim. This is one of the few shows on TV with a couple in love, who support each other in whatever they do. We need to see more of their relationship, and keep Jim on the show.
I also thought it was neat how the professor's wife turned out to be dead. I agree that she was also in another episode, and I remember thinking it was a little strange that he kind of ignored her... we know now why that was. Very cool.
I hope hope hope that Melinda's good can triumph over the evil, and we can get away from the creepier undertones. This show is great when it is the Touched by an Angel for ghosts. Good vs evil, good triumphs over evil has always been a good basis for stories... lets vanquish the evil each week, not just let it hang around forever. Also, when there are plotlines that run through multiple episodes, it makes it harder for new people to start watching the show.

The preview said "the final 2 episodes"... did they mean the final 2 episodes of the season? or final 2 forever?? does anyone know if this show is coming back next year??

Re: Ghost Whisperer

One episode left now....looks like an interesting season finale. I'm hoping this is the opening for a lighter season next go around but I also hope that there is not another major character that's going to die before this is all over.

Re: Ghost Whisperer

Well, as much as I do like Camryn - she feels wrong for the part, and if anyone has to go - I am hoping her character will leave. I wish that Andrea had a sister and not just a brother so they could bring her back.
