The hairstyles of Spencer Reid have been a hot topic for almost as long as the show has been on the air. It's been long, it's been short, it's been neat, it's been messy.

Seriously, there are at least TWO Facebook pages dedicated to the topic, along with several other message boards.

The question, as I see it, is: Are the whims & fancies more of a reflection of the stylist on the show, or does Matthew Grey Gubler have his say in the matter?

I like Reid just the way he is, he adds a dimension to the *team* that without him would be boring. Garcia sometimes looks like a clown, but I adore her as well

I think in the beginning, when it was so short, that was the show's doing. Now I think they just go with with what MGG wants for his hair.
The show writer has confirmed Maeve is dead so that's that, I guess. It's not that I actually really cared for Maeve it's just I wanted Reid to have a good relationship for once. Maybe they can being back the starlet from season 1 (though they'd have to recast as Amber Heard probably wouldn't want to do it, or that bartender he was flirting with, or, heck, someone, anyone).

I agree. I was so shocked. Finally, Reid could see a glimpse of happiness. Though there was foreboding when he told of the inscription she had written in a book and was told it sounded like she was saying goodbye. The fact that she used that reference ticked off the nut job and that is why she pulled the trigger while still in close proximity.

I hate business as usual. Lately I've been fast forwarding through all the sadists and playing the team interaction only.

notice how only JJ has a personal relationship - Aaron lost his g/f to New York (I think), Garcia lost Kevin (although they kinda implied they were dating again). Morgan has never had a relationship, Prentiss never did either, the only times we saw Rossi with a woman was just before she died.

the description I read for this week's episode says that Reid deals with a personal loss.

Remember how his mother issues played throughout several episodes, also his headached (which I dont' think were ever explained - just went away??) Also, when he was kidnapped and being tortured by an unsub - didnt' they also do a father issue with him as well??

I could see this loss playing through a few episodes as well.

When Aaron's wife was killed they played that for several episodes.

I do like that they don't just go back to 'business as usual' and show them at their emotional lows.

We see a few high points too. There were highs with JJ, when she got with Will and had the baby. Hotch, when he met Beth, and I think he is still seeing her, they travel to visit, I recall that being mentioned. Garcia and Kevin are still flirting around with each other, I'm sure that isn't over either. But it's a generally dark and serious show, so I don't expect to see a lot of happy sunshine moments. You don't see a lot of those moments on similar shows either, like CSI and such.

I still really enjoy Criminal Minds, though I'm having trouble warming up to Alex. But I was never a fan of Prentiss, so I don't miss her.

I stopped watching for a couple reasons. The story lines got repetitive. And it got to a level of violence that I'm not comfortable with. I watch old reruns on the weekends at mom's house and which there used to be some hugely violent episodes it didn't seem as bad before. I don't deal with torture well in movies or TV so that's what drove me away.

    Re: Criminal Minds (CBS)

some episodes definitely were very graphic and realistic that I can recall a lot of them vividly - the one with the 3 colllege students and they had to decide who would die - that one stands out the most - that was done very early on in the series.

as much as this is a make believe show, they do touch on enough real life circumstances that they resonate with the viewer. And the torture scenes are so very well done, it seems sooo real.

I guess my biggest beef with the show is the formula - scene 1, we almost always see the vic get killed, next couple of scenes they find another body, then the profile given to the group of cops that are never involved in taking down the unsub and ultimately they get there in time to save the last would be victim.

what I did like about the last episode is they went outside that formula box.

I do love the group dynamic and how close they are.

I do still watch but I dont' enjoy it as much as I used to. It's not a must see.
