True, after all this time, it would be a bit of a letdown for the show to end with Barney's wedding, and Ted just meeting a woman he really likes. How would we know she's the mother, anyway? He's been attracted to a series of other women all along.

I'm not getting why they brought Victoria back. The show is about how Ted *MET* the kid's mother, and he met Victoria ages ago, so I would think that that would have been the end of the show if she was the mother. Maybe she is just a way to bring Ted back on course? Meh, the whole Victoria thing bugs me. Really though, for a long time now I have been way more interested in Lily, Marshall, Barney, and Robin. Ted is becoming annoying, imho.

I'm not sure about this- but I think that Victoria is a by-product. Work backwards - we know that Ted meets the mother at Barney's wedding. And we know that Barney is marrying Robin. We don't know the details of this yet - but if it was supposed to be Barney's wedding to Quinn and something happened to make Robin the bride - then the point at Barney getting engaged to Quinn would be important to the story. And at that time, Ted was getting back together with Victoria. It's like an off-hand comment to the kids, "oh and I was dating Victoria."

I'm really reaching here; but, I find it often makes more sense to work backward.

It's all about the yellow umbrella and the heel disappearing behind a door. I haven't watched lately because of the choppy storyline. The gang gathered for Barney's wedding was the season ender last year and, from comments, at least the season ender made it inside the church this year. Will next season end with the reception where Ted FINALLY meets "the one?" It sort of sounds that way.

We don't know the how yet. We just know that Barney is marrying Robin.

It was a super confusing episode to decide to go make dinner at the same time while it was playing. One minute he is announcing his engagement to Quinn and the next Robin is dressed as a bride.

I never thought Barney was going to marry Quinn anyway - and pretty sure throughout this season they've been setting the stage for a Barney/Robin wedding - so it came as no surprise to me.

I had read that Robin was always the possibility for the bride, but that if people had taken to Quinn more it may have not been so clear cut...... I just want to know the end game!l
