How I Met Your Mother on CBS

ugh - all season long they've pretty much told us Barney would marry Robin, so it wasn't a surpirse to me at all.

it's no surprise really - Robin has been pining for Barney for 2 seasons now - her being with Kevin, the pregnancy scare, Nora and Quinn were just obstacles.

I have the whole season DVR'd but have watched only 1 or 2 episodes. Now I feel more motivated to watch if the main plot is finally moving a little. Any word on anything having to do with the MOTHER?

I wish there was a set end date for this series or at least a reasonable timeline. I know the writers are trying to say that the story is moving forward, but I feel like it's a 1 step forward 2 steps back kind of deal.

I thought the show was going to end and we were supposed to see the mother at Barney's wedding. Instead, we just get to see that Barney marries Robin? So, I wonder if all of next season will be devoted to leading up to that wedding. I hope not! Ugh! The Barney/Robin thing is played.
Last night's episode was choppy. I was disappointed.
Plus, are Victoria and Ted back together now? Will next season be devoted to him and her together with Barney and Robin getting together? Because, that storyline has already been done on this show..... ugh!!

I think that there are 2 more seasons and that most of the cast has said that's it. I feel like I read that somewhere. Most of this season I haven't seen how it all connects to the larger story; but, I feel like it's getting back on track.

I have read that too. It just feels like this season has had no movement towards a two year end date. I know there are many theories that Barney's half sister is at his wedding and that is who becomes the Mother. If that theory pans out, then there's a lot of work!

that Victoria will not be the Mom and that they will not stay together long. Then why introduce her again!?

I'm not sure why but I'm not bothered by the storyline just going on and on....probably because I love the characters and love their antics.

Before Season 7 Jason Segal said he would do 2 more seasons then not opt to resign for anymore seasons, he wants to do more movies. So, the math is Season 7 and 8 then done, so I expect Barney's wedding to be the season 8 finale where Ted meets the mother. Unless they do it for Feb sweeps and they give us Ted's wedding for the finale

At this point, I'd like to see more than Ted meeting the mother, so I hope it's an accelerated courtship and a wedding! Of course, the title of the show is How I MET Your Mother, not How I Married Your Mother.

Even so - I'd love to get a glimpse of a wedding, since we got the glimpse of him becoming a father.
