Re: How I Met Your Mother on CBS
I thought it was a great episode. They've always portrayed Robin as not wanting kids, so to address it the way the did was great. Like the metaphor with pole vaulting: "you may never actually pole vault, but you always want to know that you have the option to pole vault". They have done darker episodes (Marshall's dad dying) in order to progress a character, I like that we are getting a glimpse into Robin's future.
the bathroom scene at the beginning was fan-freaken-tastic.
Re: How I Met Your Mother on CBS
I thought it was good also. If Barney wants to be a dad, then maybe Robin is not the bride at the wedding.

Man, oh, man! I missed this episode due to not having any electrical power (for almost a week !!!) after the horrendous wind storm in So Cal.
What happened? All I can pick up here is that Robin is not preggers, can't have kids????
Can someone fill me in, please?
I love the characters in this show, downers or not.

Robin thought she was pregnant and went to the doctors office, where she told her she wasn't. Her and Barney celebrated at the office. Then later in the week the doctor called her back in and told her she ran some extra tests and found that she won't ever be able to have children. Robin, who never wanted any, started to realize that maybe down the road she would have liked to have a baby
Re: How I Met Your Mother on CBS
And it was all narrated to two kids (the way Ted does) by Robin. So you think she had kids and that this show is explaining how they came to be. Then at the end the kids vanish... because she never had them.
Oh, and Robin has not yet had sex with Kevin...which must mean something important as she's not known for waiting. This was an aside as to why it had to be Barney's baby. At first they were kind of touched by the idea of having a kid...Barney's response was actually very positive...and then as the realities of kids sunk in (they were at a baby store with Lily and she was going on and on about what having a baby does to your body internally and externally, top and bottom, and they got more and more squeamish. You should definitely try to find it and watch it...a turning point show. We find out that Robin "grows up" to be a world traveling journalist.

Thanks so much, PWS and combatcutie!
I will try to find it and watch.
Must have been Kevin's idea of not having sex with Robin because she pretty much hops in and out of bed quickly. Probably had to do with him, having been her therapist...or who knows?
Wonder what happens when Kevin finds out about her and Barney, because you know, they'll write that in. Or else, Kevin is just written out of the show soon.

Re: How I Met Your Mother on CBS
NEIL PATRICK HARRIS is scheduled to be on THE PRICE IS RIGHT tomorrow (Wednesday, January 4th). Sorry for the short notice, but I just found out today. TPIR is doing a "celebrity & their charities" week. Other well-knowns are Chris Daughtry and Heidi Klum.

I love this show. I love the characters, even with, or because of their flaws. Always feel good after watching it and that's become a more important element in what I watch now.
Yep, guess I am turning into Pollyanna but at my age, I've seen a lot of troubles for people and I like feeling good/happy when watching tv.
Re: How I Met Your Mother on CBS
I finally feel like we are moving forward in the story! It turns out that Barney is marrying Robin - but it sounds like there is a story as to how we get to that point.
