If she knew she never wanted to have children, why didn't she just have her tubes tied? Why leave it to chance, especially after it happened once. And wasn't she really upset when she miscarried whatshisname's baby?

I hate when the cops throw me in the back of the squad car ....like they didn’t hear me call shotgun.

Real answer: Most doctors will not tie tubes (or do vasectomys for men) for patients under a certain age. The thinking is that it is too permanent a solution to perform on a patient who could change their mind and regret the decision later in life.
Show answer: Because if she'd done that, then there'd be no dramatic storyline, and that's what the show is all about.
Right. Concerning real answer...she would have covertly had it done if she really wanted to. None of the doctors follow the rules..And she has to be in her 30's now (on the show). Most doctors don't like to do that when you are in your 20's but the 30's...that's more acceptable. At least around my area.
Show answer....very true! AND this is WHY she didn't.![]()

MAybe most doctors don't like the idea of doing that with a young person but it is done. I have a friend who did that in her 20's. I applaud her decision. She knew what she was capable of and what she didn't want. Better to make that decision than to have kids and mistreat them as the annoyance they can be. Even the most loving moms who adore kids can sometimes end up banging their heads against the wall because kids are not easy. Being a mom was the best job I ever had but it was also the hardest!
I would have done it early in life if possible. No doctor would let me get my tubes tied unless I was considerably older or I already had children. I really have no intention of having children ever. I'm like Christina as she's presented. It's not about fear of being a bad mom or something. It's just I literally don't want any children.
So in the meantime I'm on birth control to prevent it (a step she apparently skipped in this process).
I read that Patrick Dempsey said next Season is his last. Think it's true or he just wants more money?
more money

Maybe he's bored after 7 (about to be 8) seasons. That can't be the most exciting character to play.![]()

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
I read his contract ends next season as well as Ellen Pompeo's contract. I do not think either is leaving the show but I think both have just stated the truth, next season is the end for each of them (though they conveniently left out the "according to my current contract" part)
Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.
Maybe he is bored but isn't this exactly what every actor wants? To be highly recognizable, make oodles of money and have "star" status? I remember him as a geeky doofus guy in "Can't Buy me Love" movie in 1987.
Loved that movie, esp him but who would have thought he'd be McDreamy?
