I guess there is no Grey tonight, since there is the VP debate?

Yep. No Grey's, no The Office, it is a very sad night tonight in my world .

Mine too. I'm consoling myself with the first season of the Big Bang Theory, but I'd really rather have Grey's and the Office.

    Re: Grey's Anatomy

I just got around to watching last week's episode and that icicle was so cheesy, not to mention the utter stupidity of the plot where the guy's health insurance "expires at midnight" as if there was no COBRA continuation or even individual policy continuation for someone who was hospitalized at the time of the policy termination. Oh yeah, let's rush medical treatment or commit insurance fraud, that's more interesting than health insurance which is regulated by the state to avoid situations like that. Dumb.

When I saw the waves of water rushing out of the elevators and through the hallways in the previews for next week, my husband noted "that water is for the shark to swim in" as this show has obviously jumped the shark. Such a shame - it used to be my favorite. Now it's just pathetic.

I know. After watching 3/4 of the show I decided to take it off my DVR record list. I'm running out of shows...

Well, I still like Grey's for what it is...pure escapist entertainment...nothing more.

I agree. I gave up looking for a basis of realism in the show a long long time ago. The truth is that back in the Addison days, they had her doing the work of a neo-natologist, an OB/GYN, and a pediatrician in various shows, depending on what suited the story. And she's not the only specialist that magically becomes something else from time to time. HR in any hospital would have a field day with the number of superiors sleeping with their subordinates on the show. Since none of that is grounded in reality, I don't see a reason to pay attention to the other things that come up in every show which would never happen in real life. I just sit back, pick the people I want to have a hot and heavy hook-up (like Christina and the army guy) and enjoy.

I liked the Army guy as well... him and Christina as a pair are even better.

I dislike Alex, and looks like this season will do nothing to change that. Alex is a total clown. I'm tired of his "getting pissed to hide a soft side" character. Get Izzy a new guy to go after already.

Rose reminds me of Brooke Burke... oh, and I'm glad she told Derek her 2 cents. He will never get over Meredith, quite frankly.

    Re: Grey's Anatomy

I understand that in real life people resort to old habits and sometimes never get over their issues, but this is a tv show and having people waffle all the time gets old. I love Meredith and Derek, individually and as a couple but all the back and forth was killing me. And in the premiere, Meredith spending the whole two hours still trying to decide whether to move forward with Derek...enough already.

Same goes for Alex, I thought the whole point of the Ava/Rebecca/Jane Doe story was to show us his softer. That he wasn't just a jerk. And now because Izzie had a quick convo with Meredith and she made a joke he's back to being mean? We've been through enough seasons of that, time for something different. Ok, slight rant over. Hopefully things are only getting better from here. Christina and the new doc are a good start.
